Discontinuation

Dedicated to all MLPs, but especially the '98 MLPs

Your brief return did naught but make me joyful
(Although you hid a bit too well at times!);
To find you was to fill the day with sunlight,
And hear upon the wind pearlescent chimes!

But that same breeze is now emoting sadly
That old cliche that all good things must end.
The prices were reduced, the shelves are bare now--
And must we really bid farewell, my friend?

You've been a part of memory forever--
Beyond that! You're a legend in my soul!
You filled my childhood with happy magic,
My dearest friend -- that was your chosen role.

You left me once before when, young and foolish,
I proclaimed that I no longer needed you.
But I can never live without your rainbows,
And if we part again... What can I do?

So leave me not alone, without the echo
Of hoofbeats through the green fields of my mind,
And you shall be connected to me always,
A bridle of the heartstrings that can bind.

And though the corporation says you're leaving,
I realize now, you'll never quite be gone.
Undeniably immortal is your magic--
Immutable, and brilliant as the dawn.
