Eric Curtis and Anne Sloboda's Mermaid Genki with long flowing tails. No wonder they won an award for their Celtic handiwork. A Premier Rokkaku flys nearby. The rok is based on an actual painting and is titled, "The Scream"
A Japanese style Rokkaku by Gomberg Kites. It's called Wantonai. Flying below is another great delta kite from Eric and Anne of Boreal Kites. I believe this is the same kite that Matt Tatham won in the raffle draw.
Yes, you can believe your eyes. It's Dave Aikman flying a kite! Dave was flying the Gomberg Rok that is pictured above.
Spikey could have used some oxygen on Sunday. Ground winds were not as clean as the winds just a few feet up. The two baskets in behind also required relaunching several times. Why do I do it you ask? It's for the free food we get during and at the end of the days flying of course! ;-)
What a great family shot. It's Ellen, dad Irving & mom Karen Reid. it's hard to see but there is another kite flyer present that is to be named later. This newest flyer is still under construction.
Meg and Bill Albers showed up at Port Colborne with a huge pile of Peter Lynn kites & inflatables. There were Rays, Cats, Penguins and a huge Pillow shaped kite too.
This may be the first time I have ever seen an inflatable Bear in it's original natural colour. You never know,... there may indeed be purple and pink bears roaming around in northern Ontario somewhere
Vince Baish and Ted Shaw kept busy putting up and taking down flow forms and line laundry all day. Vince, watch out for that darned cat's paws. They really should clip the nails or something
Meg Albers brought along this great looking huge show piece. It's a Peter Lynn pillow design with three Geishas on it. Jenny Cook of the USA applied the Geisha graphics. It's one of Meg's favourites. If you really gotta have this kite it's for sale according to Meg.
Lots of Peter lynn kites in this shot! As you can see the kite traffic was heavy all day. Surprisingly only a couple of tangle ups occured. Steady winds up above helped keep most kites in line.
Ted Shaw's 27ft award winning "air head". Ted Shaw won the Niagara wind Riders "most original" award with this kite.

All in all a great day for all that attended. I would like to Thank Bob White and all Wind Riders for making this such a fun event every year!
