Survivor II, A JAG View

Part 1

HUGH DISCLAIMER

This is when I started this FF after the Superbowl

This FF is for fun and fun only, I might live in Tx and work at Ft Hood but I have never met and if he ( Kel ) walked by wouldn't know it, and I have no idea who wins, loses or what order they get kicked off. For plot purposes only do I hint at knowing? For plot only!!!!! For the eyes and ears of the shows, I have never talked with anyone from the shows, never been to where they are filmed or edited and don't know any person or people that might have been on or helped produce either show. I.e. JAG or Survivor II

Any input suggestions and help will be great appreciated as I write this. A personal problems with me doing this you can email off list and we can discuss it or just please keep it to yourself.

This is again for fun, humor and something we all do around the coffee pot at work.

Mac walked in pissed at herself and a little angry with her husband. He had forgotten to reset the alarm clock after he got up to come in early to see Bud. Of course morning sickness didn't help any either.

"Morning ma'am." Harriet said as she came in Mac's office to set down some files. "Pregnancy playing hell with your stomach?"

Mac returned her smile, "Yes, I never knew that I could empty my stomach like that. Has Commander Rabb been out for recess yet?"

"No, neither has Bud. I guess they will finally get a break when it is time for the weekly staff meeting."

"Thanks Harriet."

"Are you free for lunch Ma'am?"

"Please don't mention lunch till later." Mac said as she made a face as her stomach rolled.

"Sorry."

Mac got busy with files on her desk until Harm interrupted her about an hour later, "Finally made in I see."

Mac gave him her best marine glare as she looked up. "Yes, no thanks to you."

"How many times do I have to say I'm sorry Mac? I didn't mean to reset the alarm this morning. Beside when have you ever used a clock to wake up?"

"Since I became pregnant with your child flyboy. And as for how long you'll be in the doghouse we'll see. Come on now before we're late again." She said grabbing her planner and waltzed past him heading to the conference room.

They entered there to find Singer and Carolyn discussing Survivor II.

"I still say that they should have booted Jeff, he is a wimp and whiner." Carolyn said.

"Or that bar tender girl. Kimmi. I mean all she did was complain about how they things weren't going the way she wanted and then Elizabeth. I mean what did she do?" Bud added as he walked in after Harm and Mac.

"Well at least she didn't start planning who to knock off before she made her place in the tribe like Deb did. I mean she was kinda of leader without getting respect. That is why she got the boot so fast, she didn't play the game."

Mac looked at Harm who had made the last comment. "I didn't even think you paid attention last night?"

"Well I know you plan on watching for the next few weeks so I decided to pay attention. I just though that Deb made to many enemies to fast."

"Well I think that it sucks that she was kicked off because she wasn't liked, I think that she had the stuff to go the distance." Carolyn added.

"Well that Kel is a hunk for being in the Army, did you see those muscles? He is the one I am backing to win."

Mac rolled her eyes as Harm kept from laughing at Singers comment.

"Admiral on deck." Mac said bringing everyone to attention.

"As you were, and Lt., there are better reasons for backing a member of the armed forces."

"Well sir, who do you think will be next off the show?" Bud asked before he caught himself.

Giving it a quick thought, "Either Jeff or Jerri, depending on which tribe wins on Thursday. Wouldn't you agree?"

"I'm sorry sir, but I would have to change Jeff to Kimmi if the Kucha tribe loses again, and she was the other person that seemed to annoy everyone in the tribe. But unless we missed something about the going on inside the Ogakor tribe so I would have to agree that Jerri might be the first out there. She doesn't seem to play well with other." Mac said.

"I don't know Ma'am, since most of the tribes are made up of young people they might vote of the older people next so dead wood is gone. No disrespect sir." Bud finished with as he realized what he said again.

Harm chuckled silently at Bud who seemed to lack sleep since being in and out of the brig yesterday and last night. He noticed Mac attempting to control her humor too.

AJ for his part stared down the young Lt. "Well Mr. Roberts, my SEAL team mate Rudy lasted longer than most of the young ones and if I recall correctly there was only one 20 something left in the final four."

"Besides Bud, I am sure the Admiral here could kick all of our sixs here if we were to attempt something like that."

"Thank you Mr Rabb, and if we are finished with the show talk for today, lets get down to business."

"Aye sirs." Came from around the desk.

Out side in the Bullpen

"Gunny, would you like to get in our Survivor pool?"

"You plan on running a pool Tiner?"

Knowing he was possibly in hot water, "Yes, Gunny. Colonel Mackenzie and the Admiral are already on it."

Victor looked at the paper, "So its twenty dollars to get in and you pick who is going to make it to the end?"

"Yes, that is the idea. If you and someone else pick the same person then you split the pot. If no one wins then the money will go to the person or people who got the closest. Just place your twenty and pick in here. We decided that we will keep every ones guesses private till the final night. The Colonel suggest we all watch it together at McMurphy's."

"Count me in."

"Here is my twenty Jason and you will have to catch Bud after court." Harriet said as she added her pick to the big envelope.

Mac walked across the bullpen in front of Harm with a scowl across her face. She was still pissed that the group voted off the Ft Hood soldier over the fact that he was distancing himself and that they thought he had food. Placing her cover and briefcase in her office she then headed to the kitchen to put up her and Harm's lunch.

She and Harm had fussed over the facts after watching the show and finally settled on tabling the conversation so that they wouldn't go to bed mad. The only laugh she did get was the Harm joked about Singer losing the pool already because she bragged about the toy boy winning.

"You see last nights show ma'am?"

"Ya, Bud I watched it with Harm."

"Harriet made me watch it in the bedroom after we disagreed over the way they treated Kel. Of course she then turned off after the immunity challenge."

"Well Bud, Mac and I agreed to not discuss the show at home anymore an hour after its over so that we can still live in the same house." Harm said as he joined then in the kitchen.

"Wise move sir."

"Has anyone seen Singer this morning? I was just wondering how she was taking losing?"

"Be nice Carolyn, she picked a good candidate and lost, who knows how many others might have picked Kel? At least we know now that you didn't."

"Come on commander, everyone should have guessed that he would be off early, I mean his strengths later on would have proven hard to beat when the tribes mesh into one."

Bud snickered over his coffee as Mac added her two cents, "I still would have kept him over Jerri. I mean she is a major annoyance and just because she can took over as cook is not a reason to keep her."

"I bet she keeps things stirred up till she's gone."

"Thanks Bud."

"No problem ma'am." Bud said smiling. "I just can't get over that the whole group voted him off after several of them got offended at Jerri going through his things."

"They were all just as guilty over that Bud, so as they saw Kel guilty of hiding something, they were guilty of invading his private space." Harm said as Mac was finally glad to see Harm see her side of their argument last night over the show.

"Well it's either her or Kimmi that will be off next if it was me, but then again I get to sit at home alone and watch it." Carolyn ended as she grabbed a bag of chips from the counter stash.

"At least you don't argue with your husband ma'am over the grossness of the challenges that they are made to go through. Eating worms and cow intestines, yuk." Harriet pointed out as the group stepped back out to head to their respective offices."

"Then you would never have made it through as a SEAL then Lt.."

"No offense sir, I never wanted to be a SEAL and if to be one you have to eat that, then thank goodness I am not one. Sir."

AJ kept from smiling as he watched his team struggle to keep from laughing at Harriet's remark. "Don't worry Lt., just do your job here and I will make sure you never have to eat a worm."

"Thank you sir."

"Now as for the rest of you, I would advise getting some work done or I might just come up with some tests for you to pass."

As one the group came to attention and aye aye sirs came as one voice.

AJ watched as his people headed to their offices with pride as the smile inside grew.

Feb 9th

Mac was busy catching up on reports when she saw Harm and Clay come into the bullpen. She was wondering when they would get back. Clay had asked Harm to help with a case and as much as they both agreed that it wasn't the brightest of moves, they agreed that he should do it. So here they were five days later.

Harm sauntered on over to her office, "Hello there Colonel, miss me?"

Trying not to match his smile she got up grinning and came over to meet him, ever so happy that he was out of uniform so that she could hug him. "I have to say that I did sailor, you two finished?"

"Yep, all done and I have the rest of the day off, think you can split early?"

"Let me see, can you wait a minute?"

"Sure." And then as an after thought as she went to pass him, "You tape Survivor?"

"Of course."

"Are you guys watching that show?" Clay asked as he joined them.

"Yes Clay we are, you have a problem with that?"

"No Mac, it's not."

Harm snickered. "And I suppose Clay you know who wins."

"Yes I do, how many times do I have to tell you,"

"That your job is to know everything." Mac and Harm chorused.

"Well Mr Webb, who wins?"

Clay turned as Mac and Harm jumped to attention, "Sorry Admiral, I am not at liberty to say, you will just have to watch along with everyone else."

AJ stared at Clay for a moment trying to make him nervous and then turned to Harm, "You missed a good challenge and immunity episode Commander, I would love to see my lawyers against a team of CIA members anytime."

"I would love to see that too sir, a marine recon would have handled that without any problems." She said and then caught AJ's look staring her down, "And I am sure that a SEAL team would have done just as well. Sir."

AJ didn't say anything as Harm shot his wife a look and tried not to laugh. The few staff members that heard them talking about the show retreated as quickly as they came over so they wouldn't be caught in the fall out.

AJ stood still for a minute and then turned to walk away and just as started to, "The SEALs would win that one Colonel. And you can have the rest of the day."

"Aye sir, thank you sir."

"Way to go Ma'am. Glad to here you support the corps." Gunny said as he came up to her and handed her a stack of files.

"Thanks Gunny, but I almost ended up with a weekend of duty."

"He would never do that ma'am, he was just playing with you."

"Well lets hope so Gunny, lets hope so." Mac went back into her office to grab her things while Harm stifled another laugh.

"So who was voted off?"

"Mad dog sir, she hindered them in that obstacle course. It was great to see them all wish that they hadn't voted off Kel. But then again people always assume the worst in people they need as team players to win the game."

Mac rolled her eyes at Singers comment, "Well Lt., I suppose they are all doing some retrospection and voting better now. It helps when you sit and think before you do something, don't you agree."

Seeming to come a little more straighter, "Yes, sir. I do agree. Sir."

Clay was wondering where a knife was so he could cut the tension that Singer brought with her. "So Harm, 10 this Sunday?"

"Uh, ya Clay. I'll call you tomorrow if there are any changes. Thanks for the ride, ready Mac?"

"Boy is she still pissed at not picking the right one."

"Well, Mac we all can't know who the winner is. Bye." Clay smiled and left.

"Sometimes I just want to smack him."

"He just needs to be glad that you returned in one piece or he would have found out that Marines can break noses too."

Part 4

JAG HQ

Mac heard the voices coming from the kitchen as she headed to drop off her lunch. She held back a giggle as she heard Vic give his opinion of Mitchell.

"He was a wuss and you know it Tiner."

"I know he was a wuss but they had a deal and a deal is a deal."

"You just don’t get it do you? They have to pick who will help you next time, deal or no deal. I personally would have kicked him out a long time ago."

Mac stood outside the door listening as she heard Harriet pipe in, "I agree with you Gunny, I think that it will be interesting though when the two tribes join up in a few weeks."

"Well at least Oagakor will start eating better." Alan threw in.

"I know wasn’t that great, I mean watching Michael kill the pig."

"Really Jason, that was gross." Harriet frowned at Jason's excitement.

"Sorry Ma'am but that was cool." Tiner said as he apologized to Harriet.

"That tribe is eating better. Chicken and pork. Get the right veggies and they have the makings for a great meal. Would have loved to been there, cooking in the wild, eating over an open fire. Reminds me of the old days in the field."

Mac decided to enter then, "Yes it does Gunny. Maybe we need to show these sailors some weekend. You know a hike into mother nature, nothing but field rations and our bare hands."

"Yes ma'am, sounds like a fun weekend," Gunny said losing his smile as they all came to attention when AJ followed her in. "Sir."

"It sure does Colonel. Maybe you can plan a weekend like that."

"Sure Sir, just let me know when."

AJ looked over his coffee cup at the two marines standing there and knew that it wouldn’t take much for them to really plan a weekend like that. "I'll let you know Colonel. As long as we don’t allow backstabbing among the ranks." He added as Singer walked by.

Harriet suppressed her grin as everyone looked from one to another. Singer shrugged her shoulders and headed on to the copy room since she missed the Admirals comment.

AJ left the group and they all let loose with the snickers they were holding.

"Well at least the old man has kept his place on the show." Gunny said starting the conversation up again.

"Well his skills are still needed. But I don’t think that he will get past the eight count." Mac added as she placed the Tupperware container in the fridge.

"You don’t think that he will be like Rudy ma'am?" Jason asked.

"Not this time, but what do I know. I picked Jerri in the 3rd round on the fantasy site." Changing topics before they got to lax, "DO you have the report I asked for Gunny?"

"On Commander Rabb's desk, he wanted to read it first." While grabbing his coffee and heading to his desk, poking Tiner out of his way helping the Colonel get her message across.

Mac smiled at Gunny, "Thanks, I'll get it from him later then."

"So ma'am do think that Kucha will win the challenge again this week?" Harriet asked as they headed to Mac's office.

"More than likely. I mean with so few members left in the other tribe and my bet goes to Jerri being the next off. Or Tina."

"Because Tina drives her crazy Lt."

"Morning sir. She does sir?"

Harm smiled as he handed Mac some files. "Yes, the way she changes her mind every other minute. The marine can't understand that." Harm held his last comment inside, 'even if she is a woman.'

"Gunny said the same thing a few minutes ago in the kitchen."

"Well, Commander, you didn’t like whining any better. You should hear what he has to say about Kimmi."

"I hate whining and they both do a lot of it just like Mitchell did. But she did do the right thing him voting off."

"Well at least we all agree on that." Mac said as she sat down at her desk.

"I can't wait till next week, seeing how Kucha explodes because of Kimmi causing problems." Harriet came back with.

"She ought to know that she is gone as if they lose. I mean she is so squeamish over them eating meat. Like some other people I know."

"Well I hope so, or Jerri." And he didn’t give Mac any other response but a raising of an eyebrow.

"Speaking of next week, Bud and I would like to invite you over for diner on Thursday night and watch the show together. Since he has missed a lot of it being on cases and such."

Harm shrugged and left the answer to Mac, "Sounds great Harriet, just make sure you have plenty of RABBit food."

"Funny Mac, very funny." Turning with an evil grin, "You know it is my night to cook."

Harmon Rabb you wouldn’t dare." She asked to back of the whistling commander.

"Dare what?" Harriet asked.

"Cook his meatless meatloaf. Even the hungriest survivor would turn it down."

"I heard that Marine."

Part 5

Harriet was putting the finishing touches on the pot roast she was making for dinner when Bud, Mac and Harm came in the door. "Harriet The Colonel and Commander are here."

"Bud, how many times, Mac and Harm. I mean we were each others best man, so out of office,"

"It's Harm."

"I know habits die hard. It's okay; you should see me around the Admiral at the golf course."

Bud laughed as he took their coats and all turned as AJ came running into the room, "Dada dada."

Bud knelt down to his son, "Hey, there buddy, how are you."

Mac and Harm watched as father and son bonded for a moment, Harm hugged Mac to him as he knew she was thinking what he was, that in just a few months they would be welcoming their own little one home.

It didn't take but a second for AJ noticed Harm and Mac and was climbing all over them. Harm lifted him as he gave him and Mac a kiss. "Hey there AJ, how are you?" Mac asked.

"Kiss Aut Mac."

Coming out to join them from the kitchen, "Dinner should be ready soon if you want to change." Harriet said as she nodded towards their bag. "You can use AJ's room."

"Thanks Harriet and it smells good, I hope you didn't go overboard."

"It was just a way to cook something different. And I have a salad for Harm."

Harm grinned as he felt Mac pull him down the hall.

"Oh and I forgot to tell you, I invited Sydney and the Admiral."

After dinner

"That was great Harriet, I haven't had a roast like that in ages."

"You're welcome Mac, thanks for the compliment. Now since I cooked, the guys get to clean up."

"Come on the men, lets get this galley stored away."

"Aye, aye sir." Harm and Bud said in unison as they jumped too, Mac, Harriet and Sydney just laughed and grabbed the children and retreated to the living room.

20 minutes late had the whole bunch in front of the TV set. AJ was playing in his room while Harriet rocked Sarah to sleep.

"I could not tolerate her at all, we would have fought and had it out by now." Sydney commenting on Jerri and her treatment of Keith. The outburst caught all but AJ by surprise.

"She can't stand her."

"I don't like her either, I mean the way she just throws herself at Colby, that must get old."

"To some guys it's a great come on, a decent looking woman throwing herself at him."

"Bud."

"I guess," he said shrugging his shoulders, "I wouldn't know, how about you sir, I mean Harm?"

Mac looked over with amusement at Harm's discomfort, "Well it can be a great ego booster. But I'm used to since women like to throw themselves at gold wings Bud."

It was Harm's turn to grin as Mac whacked him on the shoulder, "They are highly over rated Flyboy."

"That isn't what you told me last night." Harm replied back wiggling his eyebrows.

Mac decided a discreet retreat would be best as the show started back up bit her eyes were telling Harm that he was going to pay.

It was all AJ could do to keep the smile off his face as the two younger men put their foots in their mouth.

As the show went on

"Now that is nasty, not bathing and they have been there how long? And instead of a tan line a dirt line, gross."

"I had a guy in my SEAL team that hated to bath in the streams and rivers. He stunk to high heaven some times after a long hike without a chance to wash at a base shower."

"Then how did he make it as a SEAL sir?"

"He was the best underwater explosives man we had, when we were at sea. It bugged him but man could he swim."

"Come on Bud, you remember times on board the Seahawk when the water supply would get tampered with. It would some times take a week to fix."

"Glad I didn't meet you then sailor."

Attempting to get things back on the show, "So what items would you have picked Mac?"

"The blankets and the soup like they did. You can do a lot of things with blankets and the soup mix could go a long way to help keep up your strength.

After cheering on their favorite groups in the challenge they remained quiet until the end.

"Hooya, that girl is gone. No more bitching about the chickens." AJ spoke first as they waited for the next weeks previews.

"But now there won't be a great fight scene between her and Alicia. I was looking forward to that."

"Don't worry Bud, I see Keith and Jerri getting down sometime in the future." Harm commented back as he started to grab his and Mac's glasses to put them up.

"I take odds on Jerri then."

AJ looked over at his girlfriend surprised, "Why doctor I didn't think that you condoned fighting?"

"Shows you what you don't know yet?" Sydney responded with a wicked smile.

"I think that you are in for it sir."

"Your time is coming Rabb."

The room fell silent as the previews gave hints to a tragedy among the survivors, leaving no clues to who it was.

"Well we know that it isn't Jeff, Roger or Elizabeth." Mac spoke first.

"So that leaves Mike, Alicia and Nick. I bet Mike gets attacked by an alligator. That would have to hurt."

"Bud the person could have been killed or at least maimed for life."

"Sorry Harriet but they haven't been even scratched most of the time while they are there. They are supposed to be roughing it." Bud almost whined back.

"Well my two cents is that the preview is just a lead on to catch views, they never give the audience what they want. The best shots of the episode were showed tonight."

"I agree with Harm, the producers love to taunt their fans, they give them a taste in the previews and leave them hungry a week later because there was very little to enjoy."

"Well lets just hope that the producers give the us a chance and gives us what we want. On all of the shows we watch." Sydney added as she and AJ walked over to get their coats.

"Especially that law show you watch." AJ asked her.

"Yes, that show." She then turned to Mac, "They have the lead couple split up and with different people and the writers and producers just keep teasing us with more scenes of them and getting them together. The show is now like a soap opera."

"Well maybe they'll listen to the fans." Mac tuned to Harriet, "I hate to do this to you but we have to be in court early."

"And I have a surgery first thing."

"That's alright, I was just glad to have people over, it has been awhile."

They all said their goodnights, thank you's for dinner and that it was great as Harm, Mac, AJ and Sydney left.

Bud pulled Harriet into his arms, "Thank you for everything honey."

Looking at him questionably, "You okay Bud?"

"Yes, I just realized how lucky I was, I mean it took Harm and Mac awhile to get together and The Admiral and Sydney had some rough times. I am just glad that who ever wrote our storyline didn't give us that many hurdles."

"Me too."

part 6

Rabb residence

0900 EST

Mac listened to Michael as he recounted his ordeal on the morning show. He was recounting his passing out into the fire as they questioned him about the pain and what it was like to be medivaced from outback. She as about to finish making her breakfast when Harm walked into the kitchen, "He sure was lucky that he didn't have any lasting scars. Morning honey." Harm added with a kiss.

"Morning and yes he was. I was amazed to hear that he kept the trauma from his family."

"Well he was playing the game. I just wonder what it means for the rest of the tribe, I personally think that they will be hard to beat now."

"I hope so, I really like them as a whole. That other group drives me batty."

"Oh come on now, who was sending me for chocolate after the show was over."

She grinned as she thought over how nice he had been last night to run to the 7/11 and get her a Hershey bar. "Well it's all you fault anyway."

Harm grinned as he rubbed her stomach, "I take full responsibility for it too, but I would have thought that you would have gone for the other endorphins instead of the chocolate."

She swatted his arm as she thought about how they shared that chocolate bar. "I seem to remember a certain sailor who ate his fair share of that candy bar."

Harm waggled his eyebrows and grabbed his cup of coffee.

"So who do you think that they will boot off after they join together?"

"If she doesn’t get the immunity idol. I think that either Jeff or Colby will win that."

"I have to go with Colby, I think that he and Keith will connect with the Kucha tribe and kick out Jerri or Tina, just depends on who annoys the group the most the next few days."

"I can't wait to see the fighting between tribes next week."

"Well at least Okagor will get to eat now, I mean they are losing weight and Kucha is having a party with chicken feed and then they win the picnic. I think that the classic scene from last night has to be Colby dousing Jerri with that bucket of water."

"I didn’t think that you were ever going to stop laughing. Mountain Dew got a great promo from that scene. At least we gad popcorn when you craved that."

"Lets eat before it gets cold." She said as she gave him a glare over her pregnancy cravings.

They quieted down as the producer and Michael came back on the show and went over how Michael was taken care and what goes on to make sure that no one really gets hurt. The producer ended the spot by pleading the fifth on some things.

"I am really amazed that no one came out ahead of time about how he was hurt, but I am glad that last night that the didn’t show the whole gruesome scene. I saw a man get burned on deck one time, it isn’t a pleasant thing to see, smell or hear as he screams in pain."

"Harriet called me and we talked while you ran to the store, she closed her eyes during the time that they showed him. Bud was totally engrossed in it and she said he was disappointed that they didn’t show more."

"Well like Mark the producer said, they were on an early time slot and children were watching. They did the right thing for their audience and the people there." Harm said as he got up to wash his dishes.

"Wouldn’t it be nice if all producers did that for their audience, give them what they really want." Mac sighed as she joined her husband at the sink. "Come on squid, we better get moving or we're going to be late for my appointment."

"I may be late to several things but I will never be late for those." His eyes shining brightly as she took his hand in hers and squeezed wondering how on earth she ended up getting so lucky.

Part 7

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dulles Airport
Noon
Mac looked around for Harm as she walked off the airplane with Bud. They were coming back from an investigation in Twenty-nine Palms and she was bushed. Of course their flight coming in at this hour of the day assured her of several hours of office paperwork before getting a chance to be alone at home with her husband.
She was caught off guard as Harm came up behind her, "Hello sweet thing, nice weather we're having don't ya think?"
She spun around a little to fast and got dizzy and was caught by Harm, "whoa there Marine, you okay?"
"I'm fine, just moved to fast and Baby didn't agree, plus I haven't eaten anything today."
"Bud, why hasn't my wife been fed today?"
Bud tried to hide the grin on his face as Mac stared him down, finally relenting to Harms glare, "She over slept and we just barely made our flight. And then she slept through breakfast on the plane. I felt like sleep was more important for the mother at the time. Ma'am."
Harm started to laugh as Mac made a face at Bud but was stopped when she elbowed him. "Well come on then mother and lets get you something to eat, we wouldn't want you to waste away."
"Thanks Bud." Harm grabbed her bags as they headed for the exit; Harm was about to stop at a stand in the airport when Man went on about a Beltway Burger stand on the way to JAG HQ. With a sigh he nodded, bringing another smirk from Bud.
On the Beltway
"So did you get to see Survivor last week Sir?"
"Yes, and I even tapped it encase Mac here didn't get to, but from the way she grumbled about Jeff getting knock off, I know she saw the whole thing."
"Well it wasn't fair, he was good." Mac answered in her own defense with a mouthful of French fries.
"I know that Mac, I was hoping for Jerri to be knocked off too, but from the previews for tonight, I think that Colby and crew have had enough of her."
"I hope so, Harriet was peeved over Jeff getting the boot, he was her pick to win. She watched and taped his interview on the Morning Show. Said he was hilarious."
"I saw it too as I was getting ready for work, watching the show has become the thing to do on Friday mornings, and I missed not have Mac around."
"I missed you too Flyboy. I hope that you taped that also."
"Yes and I even taped the Letterman show, even though I thought that Dave was kinda rude to Jeff. But then Jeff was his usual self and bit right back at Dave."
"Wasn't that great sir? I mean except for the lumpy colon song." (As for this and those who saw it on Dave Monday night. The whole bit was about a coworker on the Dave show that had a lower GI series and was told that they had a lumpy colon. Just what we all needed to know I know. J)
"I was so busy with case files that I forgot it was even on. I liked Jeff and really wanted to see him on there. I figured that he would have been funny like you guys say he was on the Morning show."
"Trust me Mac when I say that you didn't miss anything and knowing you lately you were asleep by the time it came on out there."
"Am I ever going to live down actually needing sleep these next few months?"
"No you aren't so get over it." Harm teased. "Are you feeling better?"
"Yes I am, thanks."
"So are you still alive in the office pool ma'am?"
"I'm not telling Bud, but if Jerri and Tina are voted out, lets just say to wouldn't bother me."
"I can't believe that Tina lost just so Keith could win the immunity idol?"
"Well if you have a weak team member that a strong team is going to go after then you might have done the same. I know I would do it for another if the situation arose."
"Mac, everyone knows that a Marine would die for another team member if they needed to, but then again you would have been like Jeff and off that pole after the peanut butter in a heart beat if it had been several weeks since you had any."
Mac punch Harm hard on the arm, "Like you wouldn't have been yourself? You like a PBJ sandwich just as much as I do and don't deny it."
"Well I didn't sit and wipe out a jar of Peter Pan in one evening of watching TV either." Harm smarted back as he rubbed his shoulder. "It was either that or the hot chocolate like Alicia."
"Harriet even said that the hot chocolate would have ended it for her." Bud piped in as Mac and Harm glared at each other with grins on their faces, Mac's saying you'll get it later and Harm's saying bring it on.
"It is a drug for women Bud, just like the week before when Jerri went on and on about it. Anyway, it will interest to watch tonight how tribal loyalties will go. I suspect Tina and Colby to continue their pick the ones they want out of their way instead of tribe lines tonight."
Mac sucked down the last of the milkshake loudly and smiled as she added it to the bag of trash, "I will just be glad to be home and watch TV on my on couch." Then as a second thought, "You did go to the grocery store and restock?"
"Yes dear I did."
The rest of the chat to JAG HQ was over the case and what they had missed since they left.
Mac walked into the kitchen and found Gunny and Tiner chatting about Alicia getting the boot on survivor the night before.
"Man she was such a babe. I would love to work out with her."
"You know Tiner that she could probably kick your six." Gunny said as he grabbed a cup for Mac.
"I know she could but that would be so much fun."
"Geez Tiner, I didn’t know you were into that kind of thing." Harriet asked as she followed Mac in.
Tiner turned to Mac and Harriet standing there and blushed at being caught, "uh, Ma'am."
"No need to explain Tiner." Gunny hid a smirk as Mac took the offered cup of coffee, "It's alright."
"What did you think about last nights episode Ma'am?" Gunny asked Mac.
"I think that it stinks, I was hoping that they would have off'ed Jerri instead of Alicia. But then again as one playing the game, Jerri isn’t as much of a threat as Alicia in the long run."
"So you would have voted her off?" Surprised at Mac's confession.
"Yes Harriet, I would have for two reasons, one because she is a strong person and two because I would want Jerri to get a fake sense of stability."
"I see your point Ma'am," Gunny said as he nodded in agreement, "Do that and then kick her off next time. Your tribe still has control and you can get rid of some threats."
"Exactly."
"I am so glad that I am not out there, I cant be that cruel."
"We know Harriet, that’s why we'll just keep you here." Mac said as she patted Harriet on the arm.
"Yes, please don’t change."
"Admiral. Sir?"
"It is refreshing to have someone with your view on the world."
"Thank you sir."
"So Sir, I guess you agree with the Colonel?"
"Yes Gunny, I would have voted the one I felt that had the most strength off and then go after my Achilles heel. Or biggest pain in the six."
The group chuckled at AJ's comment, as they all knew that he disliked the ever-complaining Jerri.
"Well sir, it looks like it will be another couple of weeks before we actually get to see who is off next."
"Yes Colonel, that’s what I saw last night. A mid term review of the cast and going ons of the survivors."
"I think that it is great myself, I chance for Bud to catch up on the shows he missed while out of town on investigations."
"Well Harriet, if Bud wanted to watch missed episodes then he could have called Harm and I. We are copying them all because of our schedules."
"Are you copying the morning shows too?"
"We started last week with Jeff. Why Tiner? Did you miss Alicia this morning?"
"Yes Ma'am. I had a PT test to run this morning and my VCR got unplugged by my brothers dog that I am keeping for him."
"Well then Colonel Rabb, you need to save this young petty officer and bring a copy of that tape to him." AJ said with as much seriousness as he could.
The group chuckled again as Tiner again blushed. "It would be appreciated Ma'am." He said as he slouched a little, " And Ma'am? Would it be to much to add last nights episode to it?"
"Why Tiner, you want to watch the women throw that boomerang again?" Gunny teased.
"No not really since Jerri won."
"But since it was Alicia's last episode I am sure that Harm can add it to the tape."
"Thank you Ma'am."
The room cleared after that when AJ gave his 'let's get busy' glare to all.
Harm was lost in thought over a case file as Bud rapped on his door to come in. "Morning Sir, here are the affidavits you wanted on the Potter case."
"Thanks Bud, just set them down over there on that pile that belongs to the Colonel. She is going to take over that case while I'm sent to the Patrick Henry for the next week." Harm saw the surprise come across Bud's face, "There was a mishap and the captain asked for me to come out there, I leave tonight."
"Bet the colonel was real happy with that."
"She doesn’t know yet, she's out on an interview."
Bud held back a chuckle, as he knew what Mac would say about Harm being sent out to a carrier. "I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes sir."
Harm flashed a thankless grin, "Thanks Bud, at least she is in a good mood after they voted Jerri off last night."
"I know that Harriet was excited by it. She as so happy that Jerri was gone. She did enjoy the bonus challenge that Jerri and Colby won and then during a commercial she asked me if we could ever visit the Barrier Reef ourselves. I just said maybe some day."
"Well if Mac and I stay here and you stay away from fights you might enjoy your next visit down under."
Bud unconsciously rubbed his jaw as he pondered the last time they were in Sydney. "Thank you sir for that reminder of a fun time."
Both men smiled just as Mac walked in on them, "What is so funny?"
"Uh, nothing Ma'am." Bud stammered, as he didn’t know how Mac still felt about the fight and trip down there. "Excuse me." And he was gone.
Mac gave Harm a look and he shrugged as she closed the door. "He told me that Harriet had been excited just as you were about Jerri being voted off, but she added during the show that she wanted a trip to the Barrier Reef."
Mac caught on immediately, "So you teased Bud over your involvement in breaking his jaw?"
"Yes I did."
"Harm that’s not nice."
Reciting one of Jerri's lines, "Well life isn’t fair."
"Ugh, Harm."
"So what's the word on the in office pool now that Jerri is gone?"
"Well, I can't tell you facts because everyone is playing the game, but there are birds singing that most of the office is out one way or another. So how about you sailor, you out yet?"
"That Colonel is privileged information and your clearance isn’t high enough."
"Oh really?" She asked as she sat down, "I believe that Mr. Rabb will get you the couch for the next week."
"I only wish."
"What?"
"The Admiral has me shipping out to sea for the next week."
"Where are you going or should I even ask after I saw the report on the crash on the Patrick Henry?"
"You're good Mac, you should be a lawyer."
"Funny, so when do you leave?"
"Later tonight, I have a flight out of here around 9."
"So how long will you be gone?"
"I plan on being back in time to see who gets voted off next week and make your next appointment on Friday."
She smiled at him. "Come on then, let's go to lunch."
Part 10
1100 EST
Dullis
Mac paced as she waited for Harm's flight to come in, a simple mishap investigation had ended up becoming a two week stay as the ship came down with a serious case of the flu, sidelining most of the pilots. And of course since her flyboy lawyer husband just happened to need hours to keep up his active duty flight status, he was ordered to stay until the crew was back up to par.
Between the snicker and smug grin she knew that it hadn't taken much to order Harm to stay. He did email to let her know that after he got back that unless ordered he was stay on the ground until baby Rabb made their appearance. She knew that he was excited to get to fly again but that impending father hood was first in his mind now.
"Excuse me, but do you know where a guy can get a ride home?"
Mac spun around into her husband's arms, pulling him close, "I didn’t see your plane come in."
He kissed her and then pulled back some, "We ended up at another gate and figured you must have missed it. So just what had your mind occupied?"
Shaking her head, "Nothing but you and the baby."
He grinned at her and pulled her close again. "Good, I am so glad that I am on your mind, you have been on mine since I left for the Henry."
It was about that time that her stomach growled and Harm laughed, "Well at least I know what we are going to do first before your appointment."
"I am so glad that you made it home for that, I was worried that I would have to go alone."
Taking her hand in his as they walked out of the airport, "Trust me Mac, I would have flown my tomcat home before I would miss one of these.
She squeezed his hand back as she held back the tears.
Twenty minutes later in the car
"So what have I missed on Survivor?"
Mac turned slightly towards him as he drove, "Oh man, they were they test last week and tonight they are supposed to go through more."
"Like what?"
"Well to begin with they didn’t ration out their food and ran out so Jeff came to them with a trade, more rice for something of significance. After some discussion they ended up giving up their tarps and Cobly's big Texas flag. They were moaning and groaning about hungry and then after getting food they moaned and groaned about building a new shelter."
"Did they stay on the creek bed?"
"Yes and supposedly from rumors the whole camp get washed away and they lose every thing tonight."
"I cant wait to see it, hated missing last weeks, so who go voted off last week?"
"Nick did, the group didn’t think he was pulling his weight in trying to catch food and do chores around the camp."
"How much of it was selective showing per the producers?"
"Most likely a lot of it, I missed the morning show because of a late night storm knocked out the power long enough to cancel out the timer on the VCR."
"What was the bonus?"
"They had an auction thing were you could bid on food, the stiff tore them up later on because their bodies weren’t used to real food."
"I bet they did. So what are our plans tonight after we get off?"
Cringing some, "I know that it is your first night home in a few weeks but since I didn’t know you were coming home, I invited Clay, the Admiral and Sydney over to watch tonight."
A small sigh came out, "As long as we can have tomorrow alone and off, I don’t mind. The Admiral told me that I could have a day, want to join me?"
"Do you have to ask twice?"
Part 11
JAG HQ
Harm gathered the last of the glasses as the group started cleaning up from watching Survivor. Harm was happy to see his friends as Harriet, Bud and Skates joined AJ, Sydney and Clay in watching the show at their home.
"I just feel so sorry for them, I mean sleeping in the rain like that and losing their camp."
AJ looked at his wife and then caught Mac's 'what ever look' as they both thought over their times in training, hers in Basic and his in SEAL. "Colonel, do you feel for those left there in the outback?"
Hiding her surprise at the question, as she knew where AJ was planning on going with it, "They should try Paris Island sir or should I suggest a week at the SEAL training center?"
"You mean you don't feel for those poor people Mac?"
Harm decided to save his wife from the position AJ had put her in, "I am sure Mac feels for them Sydney but after a week or two in any basic training and I'm sure that everyone here will agree that a few wet nights with little food beats a week or two out there with MREs, or what ever they feed under secretaries in training."
"I am sure Rabb that you glorified pilots didn't have that much to suffer through, and I should add that academy grads have it easy too." Clay replied.
"Well at least we were taught to never make a camp where a river might wash it away, safety first and then comfort." Harm shot back.
"Whatever Rabb."
"No Hammer here likes to make sure his buddies come down over the water, that way they don't even have to plan a camp." Skates added as she shoved by Harm.
He shot his former RIO a dirty look.
"Come over this weekend Liz and I'll tell you about the time he launched us over Russia."
"Deal."
"So I guess I am all alone in feeling for the people still out there." Sydney asked the group.
" No Sydney, it is just after a few years in the military we lose some of our compassion for those don't know better." Harriet said as she shot a look at Bud to keep quite. "I feel for them all except Colby, I mean what an ego."
"Did you see the amount of food he ingested at that camp? Would have made any of us sick." Bud asked.
"He deserved to be sick after stuffing himself like that. Just to bad the group didn't aim for his plates first in the immunity challenge. If they don't vote him off soon, he will be the one of the last ones standing." Harriet shot back at Bud.
"Come on Harriet, he is just playing the game and the survivor who wins the challenges get to stay strong and keep on winning."
"I agree with Harriet though Bud, if I were playing the game I would vote him off too, but with the way things are going," Mac said shrugging her shoulders, "I don't see him losing any time soon."
Harm came up behind Mac and hugged her to his chest, "And she hopes that it stays that way because she wants the Texas stud to win so she can."
Mac elbowed Harm in the ribs, "You just think so Flyboy."
Mocking being hurt, "You wound me dear. Anyway, Clay knows who won anyway."
Clay brought his hands up for defense, "No I don't know who wins but I do know the finalist and NO you can't pull it out of me. There are 5 left. It is still anyone's game."
"Right with 2 from Kucha and 3 from Orgakor left, we can at least guess the final 3." Sydney replied.
"I just hope that the previews to next week is true and Keith is gone. He just annoys me to no end. Reminds me of a few of my officers."
Mac, Harm, Bud and Harriet looked from one to the other in trying to figure just whom AJ was talking about as AJ kept the smile inside. Sydney shot him a dirty look while Clay and Skates tried not to laugh.
"Come on dear," AJ said as he held out his hand to the now amused Sydney over AJ's messing with his favorites, "lets get home so my officers can talk without me hear while they try to figure just who I am talking about."
"Thanks Harm, Mac. It was another great evening." Mac waved as Clay jumped up.
"I'll walk out with you. Later." Clay waved as he closed the door behind him.
Skates surveyed the four people in front of her, "I swear you four would have thought he was talking about you."
Harriet finally started laughing and was joined by Mac, "He had to be talking about Singer."
"Well sir, you better hope so." Bud ended as he chuckled to himself.
April 20th
"How romantic, to ask someone to marry you over the Internet all the way from Australia." Harriet said to Carolyn as they put their lunches away.
"I know, just like peas and carrots. Leave it to a cook to come up with this nicknames. Can you just hear what Harm calls Mac, his little tomcat or something like that?"
"Be nice, you know more than likely he called her Jarhead." Lauren added as she grabbed her cup off the shelf.
Carolyn and Harriet rolled their eyes at Singers attempt to be civil.
"Well I have heard the Colonel call him Flyboy." Lauren finished saying by shrugging her shoulders while taking a sip of coffee.
"Call who Flyboy Lt.?" Mac asked as she came in followed by Harm.
Lauren nearly spit out her coffee, "Uh, the commander Ma'am. The Commander and Lt here were discussing nicknames like the ones that Keith and his girlfriend have for each other."
"Oh really Lt?" Mac asked as she gave a humorous evil eye to Carolyn and Harriet as they stood at attention.
"Yes, ma'am. Excuse me Sir, Ma'am."
Harm stood aside and let the flushed Singer out of the break room. As soon as she was out of earshot, "You two should be ashamed of yourselves." Mac said in her best marine voice.
The two women snapped to and then started laughing.
"So where you surprised when Colby went ahead and voted Rodger off."
"I cried but then I cried through most of the episode." Mac said as she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Her hormones were really acting up last night. She went through 2 pints of Benny and Jerry's Cookie dough."
"You ate your fair share sailor." Mac bit back," and I am eating for two because of you." she finished by poking him in the chest with the bottle of water.
"Well there is one nickname." Carolyn whispered to Harriet.
Trying to keep from laughing Harriet went on, "I thought that Colby was going to kick Keith's six last night and then he went and voted off Rodger."
"He was playing the game. Everyone knows that Rodger is going to stand behind Elizabeth, just like he did by offering himself to the wolves last night. So by voting Rodger off Elizabeth lost her best ally."
"Come on Harm, you were rooting for Keith to be voted off too." Mac shook her head as she asked while AJ and Sydney joined the group.
"I think everyone is ready for the cook to go but now that they are down to so few, your friends are now the enemy."
"Hmmph." Mac replied.
"What did you think of Keith's proposal? I mean to be asked to marry you while in Australia." Sydney asked unknowingly.
AJ winced as he saw the brief flickers of painful memories from Harm and Mac, "Must be nice."
"It was so cute when she yes. I cried."
"I think that everyone cried at last nights episode." Mac said as Carolyn and Harriet agreed with her.
"Good to see you again ma'am, Admiral. I need to get to work."
Following Harriet's lead, "Me too. Somehow I have to come up with a defense to beat the Commander here."
AJ nodded at the two junior officers and made a note to bring Sydney up to speed about down under. "So Colonel, Commander, are both still in the office pool?"
Harm chuckled, "The colonel here is still pleading the 5th sir but from her smile when Colby won another immunity, I say that she is still in."
"And the commander isn't talking either sir. So I have no idea."
"You two still arguing over that point?"
"Along with others." Mac answered as she stared at her husband who wanted to know what the sex of the baby was. She wanted to be surprised and he didn't.
AJ and Sydney laughed, "Well come dear so we can let these two get to work."
Nods all around as AJ and Sydney left.
"So you still don't want to know?"
"Kinda like the way they have the votes sealed till the end, I want to be surprised."
"Well then, I guess we wait along with everyone else."
Part 13
April 27th
Harm and Mac's
"Come on Mac or we are going to be late."
"Shut up commander, it is because of you that I have nothing to wear and I look fat."
"Mac you do not look fat, you look great. The new uniforms look good on you."
"Ya, you are prejudiced." Mac said as she grabbed her case off the counter. "Did you make that tape for Tiner?"
"Got it right here." Harm said as he waved his hand. "I think for graduation the whole crew needs to buy that boy a new VCR."
"Can't blame him for just that, didn’t you hear him say that his Tuesday night class got moved to Thursday because of the instructors wife?"
"Yes I did. Glad I never had to attend night school."
After getting seated in the SUV and on their way to work, "Mac are you really upset over gaining weight or is it because all of the survivors have lost all of that weight?"
Mac sighed, "It is just those pesky hormones again Harm. I have no problems with being pregnant till I see Tina and Elizabeth running around weighing only about 100 pounds."
"Well then we'll leave the baby with mom a few weeks after he or she is born and just spend a few weeks in the mountains on the survivor diet. What ever we catch we can eat and we'll just bring a few weeks of rice."
Mac rolled her eyes at him as he went on, "Hey maybe we can invite the admiral and Bud along too. I am sure that Gunny would love a shot at the out doors. No wait a minute, we'll just have the admiral come out there every third day with some sort of challenge to keep up the physical part of things, making sure they are at least a mile to two hike from where we have set up camp." Wagging his eyebrows, "What do you think?"
"That you have lost it sailor and that I need to send you for a pysch eval before the baby's born. No excuse me, that is a lost cause, the baby will soon know that its father is a lost cause because he is a squid."
"Funny Jarhead, funny. The baby already knows that its parents are crazy by the company they keep."
"I will mention that to our friends the next time they come over."
"I forgot something?"
"What?"
"That we could have bonus challenges, like a night in the SUV with mom and the baby or for Bud a night with Harriet and kids. That way you have a reason to fight and keep winning."
Mac slaps Harm across the shoulder, "Forget it Rabb, once the baby is here I don’t plan on going out of town much and I really don’t see you spending 40 days in the wilderness just to lose the weight you have gained the past few months either."
Harm held back that he hadn’t gained as much as she had. "Fine then, who will we find at 5 am to watch Junior while we are out for our morning run or are we going to buy one of those baby back pack things and let then join us?"
"I like the second option best. A family morning run." She stopped as she watched him smirk, "and without carabineers, ropes, lock or chains."
Harm just laughed as he pulled into his spot at JAG.
As they got out of the car they met up with Bud and Harriet. "Can you believe that they voted off Elizabeth last night? I felt so bad for her."
"Well she said what they all were thinking at the end when she got to speak out, she would have won if she was one of the last two. Everyone liked her and then this morning she even mentioned how honest she was with everybody." Harm answered Harriet's question.
I didn’t recall her giving up her headdress that night when they traded their tarps for rice." Bud mentioned.
"Well I missed this mornings show because I was still getting ready but Harm did mention that she made it while waiting for her final interview." Mac said as she shot her husband a look to keep quiet.
"It was pretty. So ma'am what is your final take on who will win?" Harriet asked.
"She is remaining mute Lt.. I have been after her since last night about that and she has just kept closed mouthed like a clam. I guess we will all just have to see at the admirals party next week for the two hour conclusion and the one hour reunion party." Harm replied as he moved his briefcase to cover where Mac had laid his hand on her belly to feel the baby move.
"Kimmi and Alicia together again in the same room, oh boy." Harriet said as she saw what was going on and moved so that she was in front of them as a blind. "Awake this morning?"
"Yes, junior here is an early riser like me. Up from 5 till lunch. Should be fun in court when I get a little bigger and it becomes more obvious." Mac said smiling at Harm, "At least this one has my timing."
"Timing is good for a pilot, isn’t that right Mac?"
"Are we still debating that you two? Give it up."
"Aye sir." Both Mac and Harm replied as they snapped to as AJ passed them on the way into the bullpen. Harriet and Bud held their snickers in check as the group dispersed, each heading to his or her office.
Final Episode
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Disclaimer to why parts my be missing
Just to let everyone know, somewhere in the piles of tapes from the past year of TV viewing, I have the final episode of Survivor, where it is Heaven help me. SO if some of this is out of order, bare with me. I had this almost finished prior to the hard drive crash.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The group containing Harm, Mac, Bud, Harriet, and Clay gathered at AJ and Sydney’s for the show. Burgers were cooked and served an hour before with the women talking about babies in the kitchen and the men discussing NASCAR out on the deck.
When the show started it was an unsaid understood rule, no talking till the show was over since the junior officers knew how much AJ hated idle chit chat during TV shows, sporting events were one thing, this was another
Except for the occasion "do you need a refill," the group just watched as the final three made their totems to toss in the river, walk through the path outlined by those voted off and then play Survivor trivia. It was a surprise by some when Colby voted off Keith leaving him and Tina to spend the final night in the out back alone.
AJ got up with a humph as he got up to get refills before the next hour of the show started.
"What was that for?" Sydney asked as Mac tried to keep the smirk off her face, as she knew what AJ was upset about. Colby picked the one person he might lose to and AJ knew it.
"If I wanted to watch a trip down memory lane and see paint by numbers I could have found something else to do."
"Yeah right AJ, you wanted to see who won and we all know why, you picked Colby in the pool."
AJ glared at Clay as he grabbed Clay’s empty can of soda and headed off to the kitchen. "Anyone else need a refill?"
"Mac?" Harm asked as he decided to help AJ with drinks.
"No, fluids are becoming an enemy and I want to be able to sit and watch the rest of the show without a bathroom break."
"Just wait Mac, it gets even worse towards the end when Rabbit decides that sitting on your bladed is fun."
"Great." Mac moaned as Harm leaned over to kiss the top of her head.
"I remember when I was pregnant with Danny, I spent the last month planning my days around where a bathroom was." Sydney added winking at Harriet.
Bud just kept his mouth shut as he smiled. He remembered the mine field that he went through twice with his kids and Harriet and the thoughts of the gung ho Marine giving Harm hell was funny.
Harm and AJ reentered just as the show came back on to the present time with Jeff about to open the sealed container.
Mac just smiled wider as the winner was announced and squeezed Harm’s hand. "I knew that you would pick her, I don’t know why but I did."
"I just chose her because she seemed the sneakiest at the beginning and then she played the game the best."
Sydney patted AJ on the shoulder, "Next time honey."
"The boy should have picked Keith, and then he would have won."
"Well sir, he just didn’t want Keith winning any serious money. And all in all, I think that he made the right choice. Who wants to win just because everyone hated the other finalist?"
"SO does that mean that you would Carolyn over Lauren if you were the two final people up for a million dollars?"
Harriet kept her laugh down as Bud squirmed at AJ’s question since Bud didn’t really along with either of them also knowing that Mac and Harm still had some issues with Carolyn too.
"So Mac wins the pool alone then, I know that most picked Micheal prior to his accident." Clay asked already knowing the answer.
"According to the list given to me by Gunny, yes she did."
Mac was surprised as AJ let everyone know that the votes were in. "I thought that it was going to be saved for work tomorrow before we found out who won?"
"Well since I sent Aldridge and Mattoni to San Diego for a case, I wanted to make sure that neither one was in the final running or I would have sent someone else." Cocking his head to the side, "Well Alfred would have gone no matter what but Alan."
The group laughed as AJ made his joke, "Well everyone knows that Singer picked Kel and was out weeks ago, who did Alan pick?" Harm asked.
Trying to keep a blank face, "Jerri."
That brought more laughter from the group gathered that was squelched by the next portion of the special.
With a few comments said here and there, they mostly just watched the show till the final credits came on with Mac sprinting for the bathroom.
"I felt so sorry for Deb and all the pain she feels the show inflicted on her." Sydney commented as she got up and stretched.
"Well unfortunately it is all how the show portrayed her and her lifestyle didn’t help."
"What lifestyle is that?" Harriet asked.
"She’s living with her late husbands son." Sydney answered before AJ could. "I read about it in one of those weekly rags that a patient left in an exam room. Seems that she wasn’t real happy with the lies that were written."
"That’s odd. I can see where people might get the wrong idea, but she should have known before what the press was going to do to you." Bud responded back
"Press do what?" Mac asked as she came back in.
"Tear you apart publicly," Harriet answered as she remembered the press trying to attack Mac in her court TV trial that had Mac turning the tables on her opponent. "We were just saying how Deb shouldn’t be whining over what the press says since they are just publishing what they think they know when they don’t know squat."
Harm jumped in before Mac could let her thought be aired, "Well at least the Marines beat the press at their own game. And that we were out of the closet before we became fodder too."
"Yes, thank you both for coming clean before the trial, I could just see the Sec Nav and the troubles you two would have caused."
Harm and Mac grinned sheepishly as AJ stared them down for a second before laughing. "Well sir, they did only let you know that morning that they had gotten married."
Harriet whacked Bud on the shoulder and gave him a shut up look before the heated discussion about not telling anyone about their relationship came up too.
Clay decided to change the subject, "So how much did Mac win this time?"
"Eighty-five dollars is what Tiner said was in the pool, seems he got some other friends of his in it too. I suggested to Gunny while we went through the picks that we ask the Colonel to sit out the next pool so someone else besides a Rabb get a chance to win."
"That’s not fair, just because I have good luck in picking winners doesn’t mean that I should be kept out of the office pools." Mac protested.
"Don’t worry Mac, your fellow Marine made the jest that only a sore squid would ask a Marine to drop out, but then again he did add that it might be fair after all. Since you and he did clean up on the football boards and that it was time that you give the poor sailors a chance to win some of their money back."
Mac halted before she was goaded anymore into the ongoing feud of Marines vs Navy that went on with every pool. "We’ll just have to see then won’t we?"
"Don’t worry about it Mac, just put my name on the Stanley cup pool and NBA board. A Rabb is a Rabb after all, Sailor or Jarhead." Harm said as he pulled Mac to him.
Mac elbowed him playfully at his last statement. "Careful Flyboy," She started as Harm gave her a quick kiss to silence her.
Clay pretended to be disgusted at all of the love stuff between Harm and Mac. "Please you two, go home."
"Speaking of home, the baby sitter was told that we’d be home by 10:30."
Bud glanced at his watch as Harriet grabbed her purse. "Sorry to run like this but," She finished by shrugging her shoulders.
"Its okay Harriet, I am glad that you and Bud were able to come over." Sydney said as she escorted them to the door.
"We had a great time." Harriet added as she and Sydney exchanged hugs.
"So did I." Clay added as he stepped by everyone heading out the door.
"Glad you could make it Webb."
"Anytime AJ, anytime. Bye all," Clay waved and was gone.
Bud watched as Clay left in a hurry, "What is with him?"
Harm laughed as he help Mac put on her windbreaker, "He was making a grand escape before someone pointed out that he really didn’t know who won the money till we did."
"Well I will just get him next time I see him."
"Why don’t you just pocket the information AJ and hold it against him the next time he wants to borrow Harm."
"Good idea Mac, I might just do that, but then to humiliate him at anytime would be fun."
"We hate to go too but Mac has an early court appearance and I have an interview at Norfolk at 10."
"Night then, wouldn’t want my Chief of Staff falling asleep in court."
Harm and Bud hurried out the door with Mac right behind them leaving AJ, Sydney and Harriet laughing over the time that Mac had fallen asleep at her desk, when she woke up there were post it notes from AJ, Harm and Bud all around her asking for a minute of her time when she woke up and she found her blinds closed with a do not disturb sign on her door.
"Night sir." Harriet finally said between laughs as she went to rescue her husband, only pondering what Mac planned to do to Harm when they got home.
Sydney closed the door as AJ headed to the den to finish cleaning up. "Just leave that till morning dear. I don’t have any appointments late so I’ll," she started and was stopped as AJ swung around and pulled her close for a kiss.
"Well then good doctor, why didn’t you let me know earlier? I would have run our guests off sooner." He said with a wicked smile. Then picking her up he headed to the bedroom.
Catching her breath, "Well I will know better next time sailor." She smiled as she clicked off the lights.
