6.25" Coil
This Page shows my 6" coil. the specs are as follows
6" x 31" secondary.
10" inside diameter primary
75nF tank cap consisting of 50nF 50Kv Pulse cap and 25nF 22Kv mmc.
power supply is a 10Kv custom wound transformer with external ballast
asyncronous rotary spark gap variable up to 400bps
Ballast is 22.5mH to allow the charging circuit frequency of 90Hz
Toroid is 5" x24" finite element toroid with thanks to steve rodway of legion electronics
i will add exact inductance and capacitiance measurements when i get them

These three pics are from my first teslathon.
its my 6" coil running 3kva with 400bps rotary gap with 50nf tank capacitance
these pics are thanks to mike tucknott who did a brilliant video of the day which these pics are captured from
the sparks are directed up as there was limited space in the area we were allocated
This is the base unit i recently built
my wood work skills are now improving and i made this unit from scratch
with mortice and tenon joints and all
the primary supports are polythene mounted on wood as i wanted a classic look with modern performance
