A frightened little boy comes to the Millers' farm and stays there
When the new Lassie series begins on Channel 2 next Sunday, September 4, the famed Collie will meet Timmy, the boy who eventually becomes her new master.
Timmy is played by Jon Provost, a small boy with a lot of appeal and fair hair.
Tommy Rettig, Lassie's old master, appears in the first few episodes of the new series, along with other members of the Miller family.
In the first of the new series, Runaway Boy, Lassie finds Timmy in the Millers' barn. Timmy has run away from his aunt and uncle.
He is exhausted and afraid.
Lassie takes to Timmy straight away, for Jeff is growing up; again Lassie finds the companionship that exists the world over between a small boy and his dog.
Ellen, Jeff's mother takes care of Timmy and arranges to have him stay at the farm for a couple of weeks.
Later, a young couple, Paul and Ruth Martin, buy the Millers' farm and they adopt both Timmy and Lassie.
