BY CALLING the moves to amend the Charter Concorde or Constitutional Correction and Development instead of Cha-Cha, Mr. Estrada has exposed his real motive for the proposed amendments.

"Calling it Concorde is a futile attempt of the regime to avoid the fate Ramos’ Cha-Cha suffered. This maneuver to sugarcoat the ill effects of making the already bad constitution into an even worse one will not escape theire ofthe whole nation. Even addicts uses this technique when they call shabu by different names like ice, mets, crystals, S and many more just to mask their real motives," stated Noel Colina, national chairperson of the LFS.

The moves to amend the provision governing ownership of our lands,utilities and even media is a clear manifestation of the sell-out of our national patrimony to foreign interest. Mr. Estrada, backed by his U.S.Masters, wants to outdo all his predecessors by letting foreigners to practically own the whole country.

"The recent attacks on civil liberties and the critical press is just the beginning. This is being done to prepare the ground in the case the Concorde faces stiff opposition," added Colina. The Estrada regime is hell-bent in ramming the Concorde and all its anti-people, pro-US, pro-Marcos policies into the people throats.

"On August 10, the LFS along with other nationalist and progressive youth organizations will launch the nationwide youth alliance against Concorde. This will signal the intensification of the youth protests against this scheme of Erap. And on August 20 along with the people, we will pour to the streets,sending our strongest opposition against the Charter Change.

"If Mr. Estrada thinks that his Concorde will be a success, he has another thing coming for even the F117 stealth fighter of the US Air Force, thought to be an invincible weapon, was shot down without using sophisticated technologies. This will be the same fate his much-bragged about Concorde will face. Like Ramos’ Cha-Cha, it will be shot down be the people," said Colina.###
