College is often a new beginning. A new start with hopes.

The Renage can symbolize many things.  He can be a maverick, a rebel or a knight in armor.  Our Renagade is all of the above.  She represents a unseen spirit of comradery that can be felt among all students.  He is bold,  whether he or she realizes it or not.  Anyone that enters college and actually goes though the process of become a adult student has embarked on a marvelous journey into their mind. A noble challenge in itself. The renegades tool and weapon are first and foremost the book. Although there are many instruments that renegade will have access to, this one, powerful, and magical sword of information, unleashes the mystical power of the mind. The renegade is often seen alone,  but he is never alone. She is a hero. A virtuous adversary and enemy to ignorance and all the terrany that ignorance breeds. Knowledge and education made this country great, and you the student, and future students are the glorious knights that will preserve its freedom. Yes, You are a hero.

I traveled to Africa, and met several people that loved and appreciated books so much, that they used wet blankets and ran into a burning school library to retrieve as many books as possible. They show me some fifty or sixty books, some charred and yellowed. They told me that they are rewriting the books that were nearly ashes, and now because of the internet, they are ble to go to the universities and make copies of every book that was destroyed. I wondered why it was so important to them save these books when others could be purchased, and a young man told me that "These books represent the battle of good against evil, and knowledge against ignorance, and if only one book ghad been salvaged, they would have won, all the rest of the books were bonuses, but the key to true success will be to take what is in the book, and imprint it on their mind and write the meanings and the lessons upon the table of their hearts." This changed my understanding of how important college can be, and I now see that there are obstacles and great fire breathing, book burning, dream killing dragons on every campus, and in every castle like dorm. We have a noble duty to embrace education and share with eac other our dreams, our problems and heart aches, our romances, our fantasies and our kindred renagade spirits. Some one is waiting to read your entry in this blog. You are not alone!

Bravo Erma, I'm so glad you created this blog. I will use it as my own personal therapy, and i hope others will do the same. Sometime it just helps to know that you are not alone.
