Jazz Trombone
This is a new page I have created to help you learn more about jazz trombone, and its history. For those of you who hope to be music majors out there, jazz will become a part of your musical vocabulary no matter what you do. If you teach, eventually you will probably lead a jazz band, and if you play, you eventually will play a piece with syncopation if not a out and out jazz chart. For this reason, I have decided to make a resource to help youlearn a little bit more about the history of jazz, and the role the trombone itself plays in jazz.
I wrote a paper spring quarter for my african american music history class, MUS/AF AM STUD 244 taught by Dr. Daniel Avorgbedor, about the history of the trombone in jazz. Not only did I learn a TON about jazz trombone, I learned quite a bit about jazz itself. Unfortunately I could barely cram a small fragment of what I learned into 10 pages.
