My batch was lucky enough to know almost all the founders........Mon Roco and Bayani Elma were our instructors in Biochem. We still see each other here in the States when there is a UERM Reubion.
Mon Roco and I have here in Michigan since 1976.
After joing the frat, since the sorority was non-existent, we decided to form the Sorority. My wife Myrna Sangalang-de Leon, Marilou Gaddi-Herrera, Amelitan Aban-Antonio (wife of another Brod Andres Antonio, Eleus Jalbuena-Fajardo, Yoly Costumbrado were c
osen with several other ladies to form it. They actually iniated one another with help of our elder sorority member,can't remmeber her name.
I taught Anatomy-Histology-Neuro-Anatomy in 1974-76. My students ......to remember a few.....Eric Nagtalon, Mike Jose, Butch Tamesis, Dany de Lara.
When Virgel Carandang and I were in Anatomy, the fraternity was dwindling. We recruited i believe 23 from the freshmen, 3-4 from the sophomores and another 3-4 from the juniors. We had the biggest fraternity recruits back then.
You can ask those guys/gals, how we were then.
I'm proud to be a part this wonderful organization. Our efforts to save this fraternity and sorority are priceless.
Hope to see you in January 2001, Myrna and I will be part of the medical mission in Bataan, my home province.

Brod Mon Roco,
Thank you for enlightening us about the charter members. I would like to
encourage the other older brods (like the cahrter members) to share some of
their experiences/ stories also (for example, stories about the struggles of
Mu Lambda during the early years and how did you go about establishing Mu
Lambda as the premier fraternity in UE). This would give the younger brods a
sense of history and in the process, appreciate the fraternity more.
Brod Eder Mutuc and I were planning to interview the older brods (when we
were in third year I think, Eder, tama ba?) so as to chronicle the rise of Mu
Lambda into prominence. Kaya lang, we never got around to do it kasi we had
bigger problems during those times (naalala nyo ba yung recruitment "slump"
back then? mataas kasi ang standards natin kaya we did not want to sacrifice
quality for quantity). Hopefully, through this website, we can finally
connect with our fraternity's past.
To the younger brods, why don't we incorporate the roman number XIV below the
caduceus (sa seal) to honor the charter members just like the original seal.
Oo nga pala, don't hesitate to ask the older brods for advice/help if you
need it (alam ko naman na very independent ang mga brods at kayang-kaya ninyo
whatever problems you may face. reminder lang naman ito).

Just a small correction and to set the records straight, there were
originally 15 who attended the first"rites" at Jale Beach when Mu Lambda was
formed. One "defected" (to his regret and loss). So, officially there are
14 founders or charter members. They were represented in the original Mu
Lambda logo as"XIV"below the caduceus.

to set up some kind of reunion. what do you think? i know it will be
difficult and we probably won't get everybody to come at one time but it's a
