Aggie Song: SAW VARSITY'S HORNS OFF
SAW VARSITY'S HORNS OFF

Saw Varsity's horns off!
Saw Varsity's horns off!
Saw Varsity's horns off!
Short!
Varsity's horns are sawed off!
Varsity's horns are sawed off!
Varsity's horns are sawed off!
Short!

This song normally follows the singing of "The Aggie War Hymn". Just before this song begins you put your arms on the shoulders of the people on your left and right, move your right leg behind and just to the right of the left leg of the person on your right so that your foot is between their feet, and move your left leg in front of and just to left of the right leg of the person on your left so that your foot is between their feet. This is much more complicated to describe than to do.

A fellow Aggie and former band member by the name of Bryan Peters(class of '98) informed me that after this song the band goes into a 32 count bridge referred to as "Wildcat", which ends with the basses making a loud "oom-pah". This part has no words, but the part which follows the basses' brief solo is called "Hot Time". It is repeated twice and has the following words:

Late at night, when the t-sips were in bed,
Old Sul Ross put a lantern in the shed.
And as he kicked it over, he winked his eye and said,
"There'll be a hot time in Austin tonight!"

Please take your hat off, or "uncover" as we Aggies say, for any Aggie yell or song!!!
