What is a Father?

Is it someone who,
when you were a mere
child, tucked you in
at night, and when
you were fearful told
you that everything
would be alright?

Is it someone who
would bounce you
on his knee as you
giggled so playfully?

Is it someone who
protects you from
the dangers of life
and who helps you
through every strife?

Is it someone who
brought you to
church, and when
he didn't know the
answer, told you
where to search?

Is it someone who,
through words and
actions, tries to
show just how much
he loves you so?
