MAT 122 : Precalculus


Designed as a transition course between high school algebra and college mathematics, particularly MAT 126. A quick review of high school algebra is followed by a detailed study of exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, keeping in mind the needs of those students who subsequently take calculus. Students in some sections of MAT 122 may be required to purchase a graphing calculator to be used throughout the course. Prerequisite : Adequate performance on a qualitying examination. Note: Students with four years of high-school mathematics may not need MAT 122 and should start their college mathematics with MAT 126.
