MAT 487 : Numerical Analysis

For those interested in developing programming skills while studying numerical algorithms used in solving scientific problems, such as interpolation and polynomial approximation to functions, solutions of linear and nonlinear equations and systems of equations, matrix inversion, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and numerical integration. Programs are generally of a more substantial nature than those encountered in a first programming course, and valuable first-hand experience is gained about the behavior of the algorithm. Prerequisite: COS 220 and MAT 228.
