A course appropriate for mathematics and science teachers. The algebra of complex numbers, fields and polynomials, determinants, the Gauss plane, vectors, the nine-point circle, DeMoivre's theorem, trigonometry, exponentials, isometry applications to theorems in geometry, the cyclic quadrangle, and other geometric applications. The course concludes with Hamilton's ordered pair development of complex numbers, and postulates for the complex number system. Prerequisite: MAT 127 or one year of college mathematics or permission.
