hey guys, thanks for the comments about the site. to answer a few questions : John, Hartland and Portland haven't merged, although the situation and catchment areas of the three worksop schools are under review. decisions are still being made, although it looks like the three schools will be kept separate but there will probably be changes the catchment areas. Nicky, the pool table is long deceased from the sixth form room, unfortunately! the large room which it was in is now a 'study' room. let me know if you have any other queries.

Well what can I say, best days of my life?? not really, I only lived for sport, Richo and Byron, top blokes, cant say I really remember any others and they probably dont remember me??? I still see the lads, Ben Cluderay, Daz Louth, Scott(the ferret)Presto ..Infact the list is endless. Do they still have that crappy pool table in the 6th form room?? I am dismayed to read of the negativity surrounding the comments I have read ( not to mention the poor punctuation ) Agreed , the school was never top notch but take it from somone who attended and subsequently acheived a Batchelor of Dental Surgery , the emigrated to Australia -get your act together ans stop bleating how terrible the school is/was!

Correction to the stats. School history 1957 April Cross Country was won by Maurice Bembridge (note spelling of surname),who captained Notts.schoolboys at Football but left school to become a Professional Golfer at Worksop and played in the Ryder Cup for Grt.Britain.This was before the team included Europeans.

i just have to say to roger that the school is not the best school ever, all schools have their own weaknesses, but I find if you are willing to learn and have respect for the teachers, they are willing to help you and you can get the best results you can I'm just sorry you didn't have as good as an experience at Portland as others do, including me.

What teachers are still there, is Mr Milne still teaching, what about Rocket Ron Haslam, what about Foxy, what Richo? Overall, I didn't try that hard and wasn't pushed that hard, never mind. Liked games though and metalwork though. Work down south programming 'puters n' stuff now although I think I failed GCSE computer studies. Anyone who wants to have a chinwag get in touch.
