Outstanding Alumni
Alpha Omega Chapter
Sheila Schuster
Alumni are an important part of the Alpha Omega chapter. Our Alumni offer guidance through advice and precedent. One of the landmark turning point decisions that or alumni made was the overdue policy to change our fraternity co-ed status after having been all male for forty years. To commemorate this, Alpha Omega nominates Sheila Schuster, one of the first to break the all male tradition.
In the Fall of 1995, Ms. Schuster was in the first pledge class of the Alpha Omega chapter to contain female pledges. Eventually, this pledge class bore our first female members. After becoming a member, Ms. Schuster didn't lead a sedentary membership, and while a member, she served on the chapter's executive council as Worthy Prelate from her first semester and throughout her entire membership. While in Phi Delta Chi, Ms. Schuster achieved many honors such as admission to Rho Chi as well as many other honors too numerous to mention. After a year as a brother, she became alumni and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy in December of 1996. Since her graduation, she has been very active and has attended our chapter's activities.
Upon reflection of her experiences, she remembers Phi Delta Chi as one of her only outlets from her intense studies. She said that Phi Delta Chi was always fun, and her brothers were always positive and supportive. It was where she formed her closest friends.
Since her graduation, Ms. Shuster has licensed in Arkansas and Oklahoma. She currently resides in scenic Van Buren, AR. She has spent the majority of her career in the area working as a relief pharmacist. Recently, Ms. Schuster accepted a position with The Medicine Shoppe in Fort Smith, AR, where she manages and operates the retail chain outlet. Being the pharmacist-in-charge lends itself to being a community leader.
Sheila Schuster was one of the first female members of our chapter which has lead the way for so many others and many of our chapter's most valuable members. This contribution is priceless to our fraternity and should be recognized and forgotten.
