Worthy Correspondent - Mendi Kistler
I have enjoyed holding the office of Worthy Correspondent. This office helped me get very involved with the fraternity. During the past semester, a large part of the fraternity became involved and headed to Little Rock, Arkansas, to join our other Phi Delta Chi brothers of the southcentral region. The 14 of us had a blast, made new friends, and learned some things that will help to better the fraternity. We really appreciated all the help the alumni gave in support of our attendance at Little Rock. In the Fall semester of 1997, we had some really food professional service projects. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas break, we collected many pounds of canned food and over 30 coats which were donated to the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and distributed to those in need. In April, while some of us were at Regionals, others that couldn’t attend stayed in Weatherford and participated in the Relay for Life where they raised approximately $600 to help fight cancer. Before finals, we held a volleyball tournament in which 13 teams participated. Many local merchants donated cash and prizes for the winners. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds were given to Feed the Children. Also during March and April on given weekends, we had eight brothers volunteer at the Drug Store Museum located in Guthrie, Oklahoma. It was a very enjoyable experience for each of us that participated, and we were able to learn a lot about the history of pharmacy. Hundreds of visitors from around the country stopped in each weekend. As the Alpha Omega chapter continues to grow, I know that we will find even more and exciting projects and services to do for our school, community and country. I look forward to serving my last semester as WC in the fall. A special thanks to each brother who has helped me get all the reports turned in on time..."Thank You!"
