History
Sigma Sigma
Sigma was founded on April 20, 1898 and the Virginia Normal School in Farmville,
Va. This school is where young women went to learn to become teachers.
It is known today as Longwood College. These are the founding sisters of
Sigma Sigma Sigma.
Not all
the women are the original 8. The women pictured here are the original
8 plus the first pledge class. These 8 women adopted a open motto,
"Faithful Unto Death" and also adopted the skull and crossbones.

to intiated members.
