THE COLLEGE

The Ohlone College Campus is located on a beautiful 534 acre hillside just south of historical Mission San jose in Fremont, California. The College serves both the Fremont and Newark Communities.

Set away from industrial areas, with 300 acres reserved for open space, the campus provides a peaceful and aesthetic learning environment.

Campus buildings blend well with the hillside surroundings giving an appearance similar to the early California missions, with red tiled roofsadobe like walls and numerous walk-ways.

The College is easily accebile by car and public transportation, including direct service by AC Transit with connections at the Fremont BART Station.

Eligibility

Any California resident 18 years of age or over or any district resident under 18 years of age with:

1. a high school diploma, OR

2. California certificate of high school proficiency, OR

3. High school juniors and seniors in a career accelerated student program.

To APPLY

Students submit Application Form to the Admissions Office and request from their high school of graduation and each college attended that official transcripts be mailed directly to Ohlone College. Veterans should dfile copies of military records and special training courses.

English and math classes and some related courses require ASSET testing.

Students taking more than 6 units must take the ASSET test.

COUNSELLING SERVICES

Counselors are availabe to help students assess their abilities, interests and personal characteristics. They can review plans and alternatives leading to vocational and educational goals. A primary planning and executing a program of study which appropriately refleclts their interests, potential and motivation.

ENROLLMENT FEE

STATE LEGISLATION REQUIRES THE COLLEGE TO CHARGE AN ENROLLMENT FEE OF $%.00 PER UNIT PER SEMESTER UP TO A MAXIMUM OF$50.00 pPER SHARE SEMESTER.(ABIXX: Ed. Code 72252)

This fee shall not apply if you are a reciepient of benefits under the Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program, the Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Program. or the General Assistance Program. Contact the Financial Aid office for information

ACCREDITATION

Ohlone College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and awards Associate of ARts and Associate of Science degrees. Certificates of Achievement are awarded for completion fof core courses in many program areas.
