The Delta Iota chapter has set a standard for leadership in which each member must strive to achieve. The chapter has continually produced some of our greatest leaders in the field of bands such as Bro. Warren Duncan director of bands at Tuskegee University, Bro. Kalomo Bailey director of bands at Kentucky State University, Bro. George Edwards director of bands at Prarie View A&M University, and Bro. Jorim Reid director of bands at North Carolina Central University. Continuing our Leadership within the Fraternity, the chapter is proud to have produced 7 district officers as well as 2 District Governors. The chapter also has the distinction of being the first chapter at a Historically Black College or University to host a district convention and has produced the Southeast District Song and Hymn.

The ultimate service required by member of our chapter is their unswerving committment and dedication to the FAMU Marching "100" Band. Since 1960, the chapter has continually initiated many of the most dedicated and contributing members of the marching band. The chapter has produced a myriad of Band Directors, Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and Band Presidents and will continue to provide service to the band program.
