The Kurds and Kurdistan

The Kurds originally came from the Indo-Europeans, they moved to a region called the Iranian Mountains (Kurdistan currently) and started developing their own culture and language. Kurdistan is divided between four countries: Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Turkey. The area is known for it's high-mountains, rivers, falls, fields, Caves, trees, and friendly people. More than 85% of the Kurds are muslims, 10% are christians, and 5% others. The total number of Kurds is estimated of about 30 millions, about 26 millions live in Kurdistan, about 2 millions live in Western Europe, and the rest are divided around the world.
The Capital of Kurdistan is called Arbil, which is located in the Iraqi part of Kurdistan. The City has a population of more than a million, and has a castle, which dates back to the time before of the Babylonian Empire. Iraq has a population of 22 millions (4 millions of them are Kurds, which is about 18% of the total population). Turkey has a population of 64 millions (15 million Kurds, which is about 23%). Syria has a population of 14 millions (1 million Kurds, which is about 7%). Iran has a population of 60 millions (6 million Kurds, which is about 10%).
