Some of us used to laugh at these things, some still do. However, these enclosed Transport Vehicles with excellent destinies can be very useful in certain decks for both sides of the Force. Their major drawback is that they can deploy and move only to interior mobile sites. This limits their effectiveness to the Death Star, Executor, and Cloud City; but they make a noticeable impact when used at these sites. A Lift Tube's capacity of 4 should be sufficient for most players' character transport needs. It can even move without presence aboard in case IG-88, 4-LOM, or other droids desire to get somewhere quickly. Its main strength lies in the fact that it may move as a react to a battle or Force drain if within range. This makes better use of ground forces, as it allows characters to protect multiple sites, and it aids in setting up beat-down ambushes. Reacting and moving characters rapidly through interior sites is especially beneficial in decks utilizing strategies such as CPI, Rescue The Princess, Death Star Plans, and most Cloud City decks. If an opponent still laughs at Lift Tubes, simply deploy an Antipersonnel Laser Cannon on one and let his characters feel the true wrath of the mighty Lift Tube! Oh yes - it's legal!!! =)
