Gold 87 -- Corellian Opertive
What a weekend. I got to meet a lot of you SMs that I haven't met yet. I enjoyed getting to meet and sharing a room with Jason Robinette and Jim Van Fleet. Finally got to meet Doug Taylor, after talking to him on AOL for like over a year.
I was one of the privleged few to run the 176 person ECC tournament on Saturday. It was me, Alex Alcalde, Lars M..(I forget how to spell your last name), Jim Haskell, Josh Clark, and those who helpped out through out the day like, Jim Van Fleet and Winfried Summerfield. And the main man, that I really enjoyed working with during that, Marcus Certa. I am sure I annoyed him as much as I could, but Marcus is a great guy, who still owes us some drinks ;-). And if I missed anyone who helped during that, sorry.
Now, the deck building finally started 3 hours after starting (2pm), bad. So things got going, but then, we realized, since we were running it on the tournament software, it was not put on Sealed Deck, it was ran under swiss, which really cause more headaches. But by the end, we had 48 players remain for the last game. So after 8pm, we finally ended, what a long day. Then Mark
Schafer won that...hmm.
Thrusday Night me and Phil Champman together ran a players choice Sealed Deck at 10pm, which did not end until 4am. 36 Players for that. with the winner being John Patelle.
But I would like to say over all, that i enjoyed D-Con, and I look foward to next year. And I am sure I will see most of you again, when I head down the road and go to Origins.
