Accurate needs assessments from all levels of management
7. How important is planning in the overall picture of the environment in which you operate?
Because of the dynamic nature of the environment I would be willing to say that planning is somewhat important. We try to plan about three to six months out on average. (I said try J).
8. What is the single best piece of advice you could give to others who are trying to plan for technology use?
Get everyone, I mean everyone, involved in the planning process. Without input from faculty to upper management you cannot "paint" an accurate picture of the future landscape.
