Map of Greece.

Greece are one of the ancient countries, and together with the Roman Empire & Arabian world the birth place of modern Western civilization.

Unfortunately Greece have been occupied many times sine it's ancient glory 8'th to 6'th century BC. and again in the 3'rd century AC.

Concurred by the Turks in 1458 Athens, and the entire country by 1503. The Greeks rose from the slavery and won the war against the Turks in 1829, with a bit of help from the British, French, and the Russians leading to new Greek independence in 1830.

In 1862 the Danish Prince Vilhelm was chosen by the Greek to be King of Greece. Later on the present King of Greece married the Danish Princess Anne-Marie, sister to the present Danish Queen.

They are however now in exile due to political problems in the 60'ties, and was forced out in 1967.

The conflict however remains un-solved at Cyprus, which is still under UN peacekeeping forces, divided into 2 parts a Greek & a Turkish half of the Island.

Greece thus became a Republic, with the Royal Greek family now in London.
