The Observatory

You make your way out the back door and notice that the black curtain of night has fallen over the sky. The black night sky is speckled with thousands of flickering points of lights that you soon find yourself transfixed upon. You have never noticed until now just how beautiful the night sky was. You stare up to the heavens, becoming almost hypnotized by the wonderful sight that is being displayed for you.

After you gaze at the sky above you for some time, you then notice a dome shaped building that is almost inviting you in. Thoughts race through your mind of how interesting it would be to watch the night sky through the telescope that this observatory houses. You make your way through the entrance to come upon a shiny black telescope that is pointing up to the sky through the opening in the observatory. The walls of the observatory are cluttered with posters and star charts adding to the atmosphere.

Ever since I can remember I have been amazed by the vast mysteries of the night sky. I would often find myself sitting outside under the stars for hours upon end. I soon began using binoculars and borrowing telescopes to satisfy my curiosity. I finally decided that I wanted a telescope for myself and I found myself a job. After working the entire summer I had made enough money to buy a scope. I purchased a 6 inch Newtonian Reflector from Celestron International. This fine scope has given me hours of pleasure under the night sky.
