Research Paper 

Length:

Your term paper needs to be at least 3 full pages typed – Single spaced – double between paragraphs.  Create a cover page with a photograph from the Internet that relates to your topic.  A third page should show your references.  (5 pages total)

You need at least two references, (besides your textbook).  The references can be from the Internet,  from newspaper articles, magazine articles, etc.  The library has a good computer searching system to look up magazine and newspaper articles. Your third typed page shows the references, and they MUST include name of author, name of magazine or newspaper, title of article, and which pages you used.  If your research is from the Internet, and you cannot find the name of the author, etc., attach a copy of the printout to the back of your report.  On your reference page,  type  "See attached article from the Internet".

 Topics:

The topic should be something that interests you.   Topics other students have used:

 Nanotechnology, Computer Criminals, Laser Eye Surgery,  Virtual Reality in Education, Creating a Web Page, Computers in the Post Office, Computers in the Prison System, Internet Addiction, Pornography Addiction,  E-mail Security, Credit Card Security on the Internet, Banking On-Line,  Computer Viruses, Day Care on the Internet, BBS Systems, Computers in Cars, Starting a Business on the Internet, Technology of the Future, Computers in Radiology, Microchip Implants in the Human Brain, Finding Financial Aid for Colleges on the Internet, Planning a Vacation using the Internet, Internet Relationships, Smart Cards, Netiquette, Job Searching on the Internet, Musical Instruments and using MIDI, Computer Animation, Virtual Reality, CyberPsychos and Harassment, Exploring Volcanoes with Robots, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Colleges, and many more.  Make sure your topic is not too broad. 

YOU MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION NOT COVERED IN CLASS AND WAS NOT IN OUR BOOK.

Note:  When you decide on your topic, write it on a piece of paper with your name and give to me for approval.  I don’t want several students using the same topic.

 Oral Report:

The oral report should be at least 5 minutes.  It must be done in PowerPoint.  Include major points of your paper, and include at least 3 photographs.  (Can get photos from the Internet).
