Finally! MxPx played in Holland during the Lowlands Festival, a (secular) 3 day open air festival featuring over a hundred bands, including Green Day, Rancid, The Beastie Boys, Deftones and Cradle Of Filth (we were glad that this band cancelled their show!). The last day of the festival, Sunday the 30th of August (1998), the Vans Warped Tour joined the festival featuring bands like Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, Save Ferris, Lag Wagon and MxPx. MxPx is totally unknown over here. Actually, they're unknown in Europe (in Germany they are a little more known because they played there a couple of times as opening band for Bad Religion). We only met 3 other MxPx fans during the days before the festival and the audience couldn't be called big during their gig. Nevertheless, Yuri, Tom and Mike played a great 30 minute set, in which they played a lot of songs from their latest album "Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo" and some songs that get into your mind as soon as you've heard them, like "Chick Magnet" and "Punk Rawk Show". For the fans in front of the stage, they played "Andrea". MxPx isn't famous yet, but, according to the number of albums they sold @ the Lowlands festival and the media attention they're getting at the moment, they can be soon!
