Innermeans - Self
Titled EP (TN11092-SS)
This 4-song-EP released in 1997 was one of the first
Solid State-records. Innermeans is a spirit-filled sXe-band from California and
as far as I know this EP is all they ever released. Two of the members of
this band went on to form Project-86 and I don’t know what the other guys are
doing at the moment.
This
EP is not ground-breaking, but the heavy hardcore with a metallic approach but
including true HC-breakdowns, is good fun listening. The lyrics are really
spirit-filled, it’s almost Worship in some of the songs! The singer has a
very typical voice, and I don’t really like it, to be honest. The band as a
whole did a good job recording this record, but I doubt whether they’ll be
remembered as an influential hardcore-band like most of the other early Solid
State-bands.
