Norway
– The Essence Of Norway / House Of Wires – Obsolete / Plastiq Musiq
present..
The new
sub-label of Tooth & Nail for electronic music, Plastiq Music, is owned by
Joy Electric’s Robbie Martin (Jason of Starflyer 59's brother) and it seems as
if he had asked some friends to start a group and play techno-pop in the
tradition of Joy Electric, which is now on BEC Recordings. The first three
records show the skills of some new names in the growing dance-scene in the
United States. The compilation is filled with a lot of different names and
contains both the commercial dance-tunes of Norway and the weird, outraging
music of House Of Wires.
Although I’m not a techno-fan at all, I do like House Of Wire’s mix of
British dj’s like Fatboy Slim and the techno-pop of Joy Electric. The songs
are all quite catchy and the quality is excellent!! Norway is quite different
from House Of Wires, since they play more commercial Euro-dance. The good singer
gives a special effect to the music and the songs all stick in my head. Norway
is not bad, but maybe a bit too commercial for me. Plastiq Musiq has a lot of
quality in stock for both the open-minded T&N-fans and the listeners of
Quality dance-music!
