There
are two songs done by each band on this EP. The cd kicks off with a chaotic,
groovy song from Training For Utopia. It’s a good song, but not really
special… Then ZAO is allowed to break through the barriers of sound with their
phenomenal mix of black-metal-vocals and intense hardcore/metal-sounds. This
song is featured on their last full-length “Liberate te ex inferis” as well,
but I like this version better than the original. Great noisy metal-core ! Then
it’s TFU’s turn again, though it doesn’t start like TFU at all. A quiet
guitar-intro and a guy who’s actually singing, something that rarely happens
on a TFU-recording. The song explodes after 2 minutes into the structured chaos
we all know so well from TFU. It’s an awesome song with a climax at the end,
when they’re screaming “come Armageddon, come Armageddon”. After this song
the listener might think this was awesome, but then ZAO comes up with a song as
you’ve never heard before from this band. Some sample’s in the beginning of
the song and a groovy, very metallic approach in the rest of the song give it a
special sound. I totally dig this EP and I recommend it to everyone who wants to
get to know these bands.
