LIFE AS A TRITON

Life at the University of Guam is different from most other universities. Since a majority of the student population live at home, the traditional "CAMPUS LIFE" is virtually non-existent. For the most part, attending the U. of Guam is great. The student-teacher ratio is something like 14:1, so we definitely get a lot of attention. (Sometimes, more than we need.)

It's size has its limitations. Courses aren't offered every semester, which tends to set a lot of people back. Sometimes, one may have to wait another year to be able to take a necessary course.

MY MAJOR

My major, BIOLOGY, is one of the most rigorous courses at UOG. It's a great prep for graduate studies, including medical, dental, and veterinary schools. For that, and other reasons, Biology majors tend to have a "holier-than-thou" attitude (myself excluded, of course).

Here is a link to the Biological Sciences Club which I am a member (and officer) of.

THE CAMPUS

The UOG campus is small but it's quite pretty. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences Lecture Hall, and the English and Communications buildings are all new. Unfortunately, the Science Building (which is practically my second home) is one of the few buildings left to rot in its original pre-historic state.

The Student Center, which houses the cafeteria, is currently getting a much needed facelift. There are now several other places to eat, including a Subway. In addition, there are other vendors throughout the campus such as The Cafe, The Chamoru Stand, and The Oscar Meyer Wiener Stand.

Where will UOG eventually lead me? Hopefully, to an accredited medical school. I have one more year of undergraduate study so I've been busy looking up medical school information. Below are some links I've found related to medical school. Hope you find them useful.
