What are the Key Ideas of Baruch?
The major message of the book of Baruch is to portray the spirit of repentance which prompted God to bring the Exile to an end. The secondary message is contained in chapter six, which contains warnings against idolatry and the punishment idolatry would bring.

Who Was Baruch?
Baruch was the well-known secretary of Jeremiah the Prophet. Biblical scholars are not sure the exact date of his lifetime; however, they do know that he lived during the Babylonian Exile. His profession was to write down what Jeremiah said, and it is believed that chapter six of the Book of Baruch was written by Jeremiah.
