Get to Know Me
Get to Know Me
To begin, my name is Collin Patrick Moore.  It’s a nice, healthy Irish name, but I do not think it has any significant meaning.  I was born in Richmond, Virginia on June fourth, 1980.  I went on to live in several different parts of Richmond with my mother and stepfather until March of 2001.  While living in Richmond, I attended private school until the eighth grade, then switched to a public high school.  That was probably the best and worst thing I ever did.  While meeting new people and experiencing a lot more freedom, I picked up few bad habits.  These plagued me through my later high school days and first few years at Virginia Tech.  Unfortunately, I never paid attention to the people who recommended that I should go to class.  Anyway, I am back in school after a year long hiatus and hopefully, will do well enough to transfer to UNC-Wilmington next year.
Getting away from the depressing, sentimental side of my story, I do have many hobbies that keep me occupied.  I have played numerous sports growing up, and they have had an enormous affect on my life.  Among them, baseball, volleyball, and surfing are the sports that are still very important to me, and I try to do them whenever possible.  I can attribute most of my traveling to volleyball and surfing.  I have traveled all over the country playing in indoor volleyball tournaments, and have surfed on both the east and west coasts of the United States.  Also, having a house on the Outer Banks makes it easy to spend the weekends out in the ocean.
Well, in closing, I am going to do my best to transfer out of Thomas Nelson, no offense to T.N.C.C., and move on down coast.  I have grown to like Newport News over the last year, but it lacks what I am looking for.  I try to see myself in five years, and hopefully, I will be done with school and living close to the ocean.  We will see if this really happens, but deep down, I know that I will be there someday.
