Sacramento 21, Orlando 17 -- World Bowl II was played in Montreal, Canada in 1992, and the last of the original WLAF games proved to be a good one. The Sacremento Surge, led by league MVP Dave Archer, rallied from a 17-6 deficit to beat the Orlando Thunder 21-17. Archer finished the game with two touchdowns and game MVP honors.
Orlando opened up the scoring with a 12 play, 98 yard drive that resulted in Scott Mitchell hitting Chris Ford on a crossing pattern in the back of the endzone. That was the only scoring in the first quarter.
Sacramento opened scoring in the second quarter with a 32 yard field goal from Cary Blanchard. Orlando would capitalize on a dropped punt by Sacramento's All-World receiver Eddie Brown when Willie Davis caught an 8 yard pass from Mitchell.
Both teams would exchange field goals, and then the Surge surged to victory. The Surge took advantage of Orlando turnovers to put them on top. Tight end Paul Green would score the first touchdown for the Surge on a 12 pass from Archer. Archer hit Mark Stock for the two point conversion. Later in the fourth quarter, Eddie Brown would make up for his mistake earlier in the game by catching a 2 yard pass from Archer.
