I appreciate your comment concerning the Italian wife and the ashtray; at one stage I did consider taking up a job as a knife thrower's assistant. But I digress... Reading todays Bild Zeitung - which as you undoubtedly know is the equvalent of the Daily Star, but not quite as intellectual - I was drawn to the results of a football survey which covered favourite club, player etc etc... One of the categories was favourite foreign club. Barca led with a calculated 2.26 million votes, almost certainly entirely down to Spanish waiters, Brazilian whores and broken down Dutch caravan drivers. Second, with 1.49 million votes, was the glorious CFC, ahead of Real Madrid, Man Ure and liverpool, who polled a paltry 1.12 million votes. My mole at Bild Zeitung informs me that the Liverpool vote was pretty much fifty fifty split between pensioners and prisoners, so that explains that one. Further investigation showed that amongst the 2000 polled, one woman thought it was the next episode of the German DAZ ad, so when she hysterically screamed "white, white, white, like lillies !", they assumed she was a Spurs fan, especially as she was waving a formerly white baby-gro covered in shit. Seems perfectly reasonable to me... The bottom line is that CFC has succesfully invaded Germany... it's Poland next.. Always on the look out for news that matters.. Klaus.
