Tiger Woods will be facing formidable match-play opponents in December.

Woods will take on the threesome of Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr. and Kevin Costner in a made-for-TV match behind the gates of Orlando's super exclusive Isleworth Country Club. The celebrity threesome will play a scramble against Woods -- with a twist. Each time the celebs win a hole, they get to pull a club from Woods' bag (anything but the putter).

Woods figures to have the home-course advantage at Isleworth, where he fired a course-record 59 last April. But MJ and Costner will gain some local knowledge from Griffey, a club member who found himself with plenty of practice time on his hands after the Seattle Mariners were bounced from the baseball playoffs last week.

The show -- tentatively called Tiger & Friends, is slated to be aired by CBS on Christmas Day. The players actually tee it up Dec. 11, the day after Jordan and the Bulls visit Orlando to play the Magic. Word is no spectators will be allowed on the Isleworth grounds, although International Management Group (which is producing the event and whose grand poobah, Mark McCormack, has a home at Isleworth), is lobbying for a number of gate passes.
