2009: Once again signed with Lancaster Barnstormers (Atlantic League) and began season with independent team....hit .361 with Atlantic League-leading six home runs and 15 RBI in nine games....signed with Tampa Bay organization 5/4 and assigned to Class AA Montgomery....on disabled list from 5/27 to 8/18 due to broken wrist. 2008: Released by Detroit Tigers prior to the start of the regular season....signed with Lancaster Barnstormers (Atlantic League) 4/11 and played for team in exhibition games....signed free agent contract with Atlanta Braves 4/20 and assigned to Class AA Mississippi (Southern League)....went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in M-Braves debut 4/20 vs. Huntsville....tied for Southern League home run lead with 13 when promoted to Class AAA Richmond 5/30....homered in R-Braves debut 5/30 at Charlotte....called up to Majors by Atlanta Braves 7/4....delivered an RBI triple in first MLB plate appearance to become the first Brave ever to hit a triple in his first professional at-bat....sent back to Richmond 7/9 following 7/8 game at Los Angeles and returned to R-Braves lineup 7/18. 2007: Sent to Class AA Midland for the fourth straight season....promoted to Class AAA Sacramento 5/7....homered twice 6/28 vs. Fresno....traded to Detroit 8/13 and assigned to Class AAA Toledo....went 4-for-8 over first two games with Mud Hens 8/16-8/17....snapped an ensuing 0-for-15 slump with first International League home run 8/25 at Indianapolis....hit 100th career home run in second game of doubleheader 9/2 vs. Columbus....overall, matched career-high with 25 home runs during season....went 3-for-23 while playing in nine games during October for Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Winter League. 2006: Assigned to Class AA Midland for a third season....hit for the cycle in 20-10 victory over Corpus Christi 4/16....sat out with ankle injury over the following week but returned to the lineup 4/23 and belted a walk-off home run to beat San Antonio 2-1....named Texas League Player of the Week for April 24-30 after going 12-for-22 in six games....had at least two hits in five of those games and scored at least one run in five of those games, and two runs in three....ended month of April with league-leading .426 batting average....promoted to Class AAA Sacramento 5/13....continued to lead Texas League in batting with a .402 average at time of promotion....went 0-for-12 to start PCL career before belting two-run homer 5/16 at New Orleans....homered twice while driving in five runs 6/8 vs. Portland....batted .343 with four homers and 22 RBI during June....played for Azucareros del Este of the Dominican Winter League during November going 1-for-11 in three games against Licey from 11/12 to 11/18. 2005: Once again assigned to Class AA Midland....hit .233 in April before breaking loose in May hitting .351 for the month....belted three homers while driving in eight runs during doubleheader at Tulsa 5/9....named Texas League Batter of the Week for May 9-15 after going .444 (8-for-18) with four home runs and 10 runs batted in for the period....homered twice in loss to Springfield 5/24....named Texas League Player of the Month for May after hitting .351 with eight home runs and 22 RBI....selected to play for the West in the Texas League All-Star Game on June 21 at Frisco, Texas....also named as DH on 2005 Texas League Post-Season All-Star Team.
