NOTE: I haven't seen the game, and so, the report is brief and uncovering.

Against all odds, England and Scotland nearly eliminated Netherlands; however, the goal of Patrick Kluivert spoiled the sensation from being full. Scotland is out after scoring less goals than Holland, and so it can blame itself entirely for not scoring enough against the weak squad of Switzerland. So close to the first ever participation in the second round of a major tournament, and altogether with that, so far from that.

Ally McCoist could've made the difference, but the two early chances of his were denied superbly by Marco Pascolo, a pleasant surprise of this Championship - once, he threw McCoist's header from the goal-line (5), and once, he denied the forward in one-to-one (7). Later on, McCoist managed to score a perfect goal from 18 meters under the right crossbar, after a wonderful goal pass of Gary McAllister. However, Scotland failed to do more than that, and that wasn't enough as to escape an early elimination.
