A magnificent game with lots of action, disputable calls and goals goals goals.
"Putting all eggs in one basket" proves an efficient way to return in winning fashion. Davidsson 2+2, Ruuttu 0+1 and Caloun 1+2 were the key together with a very efficient power play unit.
Linna returned in style, 1+1, and veteran Pepe Lehtonen filled well the void left by the injury of Rafalski and the suspension of Halkidis. Also Rajala and of course Timonen & Karalahti emerged with good tackles and a minimum of errors.
Olli Jokinen had three assists in his 3rd game of the season and really lifted his linemates Hurme and Laukkanen.
The talk of the day was again referee Haajanen who had an horrendous afternoon. Obvious infringements not beeing called. The coaches were furious with the foul play and especially Ruutu was in the teeth of Ässät coach Tamminen. It remains to be seen if the authorities for once could suspend lousy officials instead of players in petty fights.
Lundell was solid, but did not shine. We still have a problem in that department.
Back to number two in the table and next two against lowly Kalpa and HPK, look a lot better again.
