A very enjoyable game with a lot of tackles and grit and two good goalies. Ref allowing hard hitting in the 1st period providing a lot for the crowd. HIFK 1st line, with Laukkanen on the right instead of Caloun, was again very inefficient. The second line played beatiful hockey, but should score more. The fourth line scored twice and all the forwards Legg 0+1, Kuhta 1+0 and Heiskanen 1+0 got on the scoresheet. Youngster Kari Kalto #78 had also a good game. Timonen and Rafalski were magnificent with and without the puck. The other defenders did not do that bad with the exception of Puolanne. Jokela and veteran Pertti Lehtonen were benched early in the 1st.
