North Hunterdon Places 5th at Tourney -- 12/21/96
The North Hunterdon Wrestling Team limped into the Hunterdon-Warren Tournament on Saturday,
December 20th missing 4 of its starters. Even so, they still managed to take 5th place at
the tournament, which is held in Hunterdon Central's Field House. Missing were Sophomors Ian Denlinger
and Justin Bagley and Seniors Jason Cedro and Dan Degan. Head Coach of North Hunterdon,
Dennis Haughey said, "We expected to do better even without those guys, but there's no need
to panic about this because it's early."
North Hunterdon Place Winners were:
Eric Balut - 119lb took 1st place by pinning Craig Metzgar of Hackettstown
Mike Jeffrey - 125lb took second, losing a close bout to Matt Tresslar of Belvidere
3rd Place Finishers were Eric Eisenhart at 112; Eric Arnold at 171; and Shane Costello at 215.
Kelly Pierce rounded out the the place winners in taking 4th at 145lbs.
