"There were lots of cool things that happened to me over the past year.  One was being part of the grand opening of the Planet Hollywood in my hometown of Indianapolis, meeting Luke Perry and Chris Farley, but the best was traveling on the tour.  I have so many great memories and friendships from the tour.  It is also a constant reminder of how I have touched the lives of so many young people and I am so thankful to have their support.  This year I look forward to traveling with the tour again, graduating from high school and most of all, having a full recover from my knee surgery.  With God's help, I hope to be competing in the 1998 Championships in Indianapolis."
 

Kerri Strug
"There were many highlights for me last year, including meeting the President, appearing on television shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, MTV's Motel California, Touched By An Angel, and Saturday Night Live.  Additionally, I got to meet some of my favortie actors such as Robin Williams and Tom Hanks.  I have also really enjoyed going to UCLA.  The experience of taking new classes and joining a sorority has allowed me to broaden my horizons.  I am excited to explore new interests.  Recently, I started an internships at a television station in Los Angeles.  I have also been hiking, rollerblading, cooking, and reading in my spare time."
