Road Diary by Amy Chow
MONDAY Evansville, Indiana
11 AM and I'm finally rolling out of bed-a
big difference from all those years of traiing when I was at the gym by
6:30 to work out before shcool. This is the norm on tour, however...
The show at Roberts Municipal Stadium tonight starts at 8:30PM, but by
the time it's over and we've attended our sponsor's reception, it's 11:30
before we roll back onto our bus...
WEDNESDAY Columbus, Ohio
The show today at St. John Arean was amazing!
The crowd, a great mixture of families, college kids, and couples, was
really interesting. As this is still early in the tour, we had a
quick rehearsal beforehand to make sure we had the numbers down.
A short warm-up to get our muscles ready to go was followed by a quick
change into our white-and-gold leotards for the group dance to the song
"Dream." Then quickly into a new leotard and some grips for my hand
to do our "Rocky's Theme" number... We then roll quickly into a tumbling
demonstration to Janet Jackson's "Control." I always know I have
to be quick in my routines, but I certainly had learned a thing or two
about quick outfit changes.
THURSDAY Pensacola, Florida
...We had to work out from 1 to 4PM.
Then it was off to be guests at the Harlem Globetrotters basketball game.
Everyone is amzed at what we can do with our bodies, but what those guys
can with basketballs is incredible!
FRIDAY New Orleans, Louisiana
Dallas Cowboy Emmitt Smith came to meet us!
He is very friendly and down to earth... We still haven't gotten used to
the idea that people consider us celebrities and that someone as famous
as Emmitt Smith would care about us. Kim Zmeskal and Shannon Miller,
tow huge Dallas Cowboys fanas, were freaking out! They couldn't believe
that they were face-to-face with one of their heroes.
