Tom Walker was a great supporter of Warren County Wrestling. He was the one who made the Warren County Stomp famous throughout the area. Always a great supporter of the team his son Thad was on, Tom would wear his special boots to every match in order to start the thunderous foot-stomping sound that would get our crowd going.
But Tom's support was not reserved only for his son. You could hear his voice in support of all the boys on the team. He would often re-arrange his busy work schedule with Costco so that he could be home in time for a match.
Tom was a very intense person. He was so full of life. He loved wrestling, he loved fishing, he loved his Harley, but most of all he loved his family. It will seem odd next year when wrestling starts and we don't hear his voice in the crowd. But we will hear his stomp. The stomp has become a Warren County tradition that will go on for years to come and will forever be remembered as part of the legacy of Tom Walker.
In memory of Tom Walker, contributions are being collected for the purchase of a new wrestling mat with his name on it. If you would like to contribute, please mail a check to the
