Darin Erstad is the latest Major Leaguer from North
Dakota. Darin is from Jamestown, North Dakota where he excelled in
baseball, football, and hockey. Darin went on to the University of
Nebraska where he played both football and baseball. In 1995, Darin
was the #1 overall pick in the June Amateur Draft and was chosen by the
Anaheim Angels. He was assigned to Lake Elsinore where he spent
little time. By 1996 Darin was playing in the Big Show for the
Angels.
