Power Plays: B 0/5, NH 1/5.

Referee: Kevin Muench. Linesmen: Tom Owens, Denis McKiernan. A: 2775.

Three stars: 3) NH Jerome Bechard. 2) NH George Maneluk. 1) NH David Haas.

Notes: I wish I could remember what Bechard did this night to earn a selection as one of the three stars--unless I miswrote and it should have been Paul Willett (16) instead of Jerome (6). Bechard was a fun little AHL player at that time, though, and just because I didn't write it down doesn't mean I probably wasn't enjoying it...correction. I was rooting for Bingo this night, and was often unhappy. But we (Bingo) got the better share of the refereeing, because all my officials notes indicate that Mr. Muench (''Never heard of him,'' I wrote) was riding New Haven badly.

By the way, a good night for Joe Paterson, who would become the first Beast of New Haven assistant coach: an assist and a minor.
