As I'll say elsewhere in cyberspace, I respected Darryl Kile a lot because of his no-hitter against the Mets in 1993 and because of that 12-6 curveball. I grew to admire Darryl Kile because he proved me right as a fantasy baseball nerd a few times. I can't even claim to have ever met Darryl Kile, but his death deeply saddened me because of those two links I had to him. May he rest in peace.
So, officially in this little corner of the world, No. 57 joins Nos. 34 (Nolan Ryan) and 72 (Carlton Fisk) on the wall at Con Ed Stadium. It means nothing, but it's all I have.
