Notes
Carlos Delgado had another great week, but much like Vladmir Guerrero from a few weeks back, he's been consistently good all year long. This week's action has pushed his batting average above .300, to .303. He also has 27 home runs and 93 RBI's to go with the batting average.

Carlos Delgado is probably the most underrated 1st baseman in the majors. The reason for this is the number of other great 1st basemen. However, his numbers speak for themselves. He is currently in the top 10 in the AL in: RBI's (93), total bases (247), doubles (38), slugging percentage (.594), and extra base hits (66). Considering the other great offensive players in the league, that is very impressive. Delgado already has surpassed many of his personal bests this year, and he looks to improve on still with the remainder of the season. If Frank Thomas doesn't rebound next year, we may see Delgado take some time in the All-Star game.

The superstar that I often compare Delgado to is Mo Vaughn. Both hit for a high average, give you lots of HRs and RBI's, walk alot, and strike out alot. However Vaughn gets most of the media attention. To make the situation even more interesting, Mo Vaughn has expressed a great interest in signing with the Toronto Blue Jays next year, possibly uniting the two lefty sluggers. When informed of the possibility, a modest Delgado replied, "Well it looks like I better start looking for my outfielders' glove." I'd hang on to that 1st basemen's mitt if I were you Carlos.
