Murphy's Kristy Whitaker and Polk County's Jennifer Dimsdale just after the 1-mile mark which they hit in 5:50. Lejeune's Christina Smith follows closely.
Dimsdale went on to win her second straight state title in 19:27.8. Whitaker was second in 19:45.0. Smith finished 4th in 20:17.1
